A pretty market town that has great frequent cheap bus links into Cambridge. A lovely river with history pretty boat rides available. Golden Lion hotel and Amore Italian restaurant excellent food. We chose an 11 mile circular walk around St.
We chose an 11 mile circular walk around St. Ives, along the Ouse river and valley(s). The walk was great, stopping half way at the excellent Cock in Hemmingford Grey. St. Ives itself has plenty of history and St. Ives Bridge with the integrated Chapel is one of four of its kind in the country and the statue of Oliver Cromwell is prominent. St Ives is a lovely quiet calm town.
St Ives is a lovely quiet calm town. It has some great shops and a large market on a Monday morning. There is a Antique Market too which has some fantastic things to buy. You also understand the lack of air conditioning and lift. Large Gravel car par to the front of the property, gives you that feel of grandeur, rolling through it with the car. As the hotel is open to the public, this brought an additional crowd of people. For me also endorsed, if the locals are using it,it has to be something special.
