A very nice and clean hotel with extraordinarily friendly staff, especially a woman who worked almost all day! Excellent food and a relaxed and cosy atmosphere, we really enjoyed our stay and would like to come back, thank you very much!

The room was large and very comfortable. The location is good, being a short walk from the main street of Kirkwall, and the cathedral and other sites, as well as being easy to get onto the roads to tour the island.

From arrival we were met with a friendly lady on reception, unfortunately I can't remember her name but she was very helpful, professional and made us feel welcome. The hotel in general was clean, tidy and had a homely feel. Myself and my partner had a great sleep, comfortable bed and a warm and clean room. We were just a few minutes walk away from everything that we needed. We didn't use the other facilities in the hotel but we definitely will if we return again in the future.

Everything was fabulous. Spacious, spotless and well-sound-proofed rooms. Convenient parking. Fabulous breakfast, with fresh strawberries, raspberries and blueberries (which I’ve not seen in bigger hotels). Access to the common lounge with fridge and microwave is a big plus. Alice and Eric are excellent hosts, friendly, knowledgeable and very helpful.

Couldn’t recommend this wonderful place highly enough. Very comfy and cosy, has everything one needs (and a jacuzzi), very central with great views over Kirkwall and absolutely quiet.

Lovely accommodation and outlook to the bay and beyond. Good bus link to Kirkwall and further afield, but not to Burwick ferry terminal. It's possible to get on the coach which meets the ferry, at Burwick (the driver said) bound for Kirkwall, and get off at St Margaret's Hope, where it's a much shorter taxi ride to St Mary's.
