Wonderful quaint hotel in a small town. The locals all gathered in the pub giving it a homey vibe, but the rooms were far away from the busy pub and very quiet. The bed was the most comfortable hotel bed I’ve slept on in a long time, definitely a standout! Breakfast was standard English breakfast but you can pick and choose which parts end up on your plate.

The room was larger than I thought it would be with an additional bed, no additional fee though :) There was everything I could have needed in the room - iron and ironing board, heater, fan, hair drier, tea, coffee and biscuits.

    Close M11 and Stansted.

    Close M11 and Stansted. A small village with some local shops. Good location to explore Essex and South Suffolk, lots of things to see nearby. The roads are narrow and there are lots of small villages with speed limits. A popular area for cyclists and bikers.

    The staff were very welcoming and pleasant. The food was exceptional, would use them again but unfortunately no more events expected in their location. Only negative was the man who helped serve breakfast, he was not dressed appropriately - it looked like pyjamas but likely shorts & T-shirt

    Stayed overnight following a nearby wedding. When booking, hotel responded quickly and extremely helpfully to my questions regarding possible early check in and local taxi info. Room clean and comfortable and lovely friendly welcome. Generous breakfast freshly cooked and served with care by friendly staff. Would definitely revisit and recommend.

    We had Sunday lunch there which was delicious - and stayed over the Sunday night - they let us get the key at 12pm early as we would not be at the hotel until late (going to Tom Jones at Audley End)
