Superb attentive service from a team, all local, who clearly are totally invested in making your stay as wonderful as it can Restaurant here has always been superb and again did not disappoint. Room rural view and very quiet. Just loved it. Already looking forward to the next stay.

Gary and Jennifer are the perfect hosts. Nothing is too much trouble. Backside Lodge is equipped with everything you could possibly need and more. Lovely warm welcome on arrival. Homemade scones, biscuits, sweets, bottle water, bottle of beer and a bottle of wine waiting in the lodge for use. A lovely touch to a perfect stay. The bed was so comfortable and the lide was extremely clean. Can't wait to go back.

The host went above & beyond to make our stay special this was a hidden gem so relaxing & had everything you needed to make our stay just perfect I will definitely stay again & would highly recommend anyone to go visit & stay the host even fed the cockreal so that I could take his picture! The property was beautiful, home from home, with everything there that you needed, the welcome pack was a lovely gesture as well left by Claire. The village was quiet, which was nice, but good in the fact that relaxing/chilled (with village pub just across the road serving lovely food) we had days out in York and Beverley. We are certainly going back......

Mal made us very welcome when we arrive. The facilities were excellent and every where spotless. Mal is an excellent host and cook. His Breakfast was first class with local produce and presented with pride. Highly recommend and will return
