The staff were all very welcoming, they made the stay with our dog really easy. The food was simple and home cooked, delicious. The rooms were spotless and the bathroom was modern and clean.

I had a fabulous stay at this lodge which is truly stunning and very comfortable especially the bed which was so cosy . It is probably the best equipped self catering accomodation i have ever stayed in with all the mod cons and equipment that you would need. I was privileged to be the first guest to stay in this new Lodge and was greeted with a wonderful welcome pack which was a lovely surprise. There are beautiful views from the Lodge and its location is well placed for easy access to both Carlisle and Penrith. The site is on the 104 bus route which has a regular service from Carlisle to Penrith and Center Parks. I felt so at home in the Lodge and didnt want to leave, it really was my happy place at a time when i really needed it. Thank you Steve and Susanna you are amazing hosts.

This is a beautifully decorated and equipped cottage about 8 miles south of Carlisle. We found it spotlessly clean, with perfect facilities for a very happy and comfortable week's holiday. The beds are very comfortable, the kitchen has everything you need for self-catering, and it's spacious and bright.

Very clean and well equipped accomodation in nice rural setting. My wife loved the bath. Really comfortable beds. A few welcome gifts to assist settling in. Host posted a shirt I left behind. Highly recommended if you are visiting this area. The property had a very well equipped kitchen, including dishwasher, though we had great evening meal at nearby Crown Inn.

Everything you imagine about a country pub, come together at the Plough. Warm cosy setting, friendly staff making you feel welcome We were staying overnight for a visit the next day at Carlisle Racecourse. What a find less than 5 minutes from J42 of M6 and 5 minutes from the Racecourse. Food was special, incredible roasts and we will definitely be returning to sample weekday menu options. The welcome included banking up the log burner for us and giving us a tour of the recently decorated and super comfy bedrooms. You cannot go wrong either stopping by for a meal and breaking up a journey on M6 as you reach J42, your sat nav will find Plough Inn easily. Real ales, tasty wines, and glasses which make the drink look and taste excellent. We were treated to a special breakfast, well done Simon, Diane and Peter for being great ambassadors for your beautiful country Inn.
