lovely place with some lovely shops, pub restaurants are very expensive, pubs are resonable for drinks. i would be careful which chipshop you go too..but thats not that important. WImpy was brilliant many memories. loads of lovely independenet cafes which i prefer. I have always loved Swanage its a quintessential seaside town full of activity , I attend a Blues festival annually which is great. Pubs are friendly and plentiful and the fish & chips are outstanding. What a gem of a seaside town.
What a gem of a seaside town. The breathtaking scenery of the Jurassic coast with Corfe Castle looming in the near distance... Great pubs and places to eat; fresh pastries and decent coffee. The steam railway, South West Coast Path - and the rose gold sands in front of jaunty beach huts combine to create an atmosphere lost by so many larger, once grander resorts. Some steep hills make the town potentially challenging for wheelchairs. I really liked Swanage.
I really liked Swanage. There is wonderful walking on the Coastal Path and across the fields, on walks that are accessible by public bus. The Swanage Railway outing to Corfe Castle and the Mining Museum is a very good day out. The town itself has everything that a visitor needs in terms of supermarkets and restaurants and pubs. There is an excellent fish and chips place (The Fish Plaice) right on the square by the quay. Try the Cornish Bakery, too.Guest review byKarenUnited States - 10

A delightful little historical seaside town with easy walking access to a range of interesting shops and plenty of coffee places. Lots to do for all ages including the railway, museum and pier. We loved the beach and my grandson enjoyed the playground with the best views ever.Guest review bySarah
