Lovely place to visit, The Abbey is a must, a walk around the back streets is recommended, so many old houses & buildings, I don't think any of them had a proper even roof , The walk along the river is lovely, some very nice coffee shops on the way, some over looking the river, so very leisurely, I would say the only downside we found was the amount of traffic on the main road , so make sue to use the crossings.Guest review byKenUnited Kingdom - 10

Having driven past Tewkesbury on the M5 more times than I care to recall, it was chosen as a geographical half way point for a meet up with friends. So impressed, I immediately returned for another visit with my wife. Tewkesbury is perhaps a hidden gem if interested in history. Countless historical and attractive buildings in the main streets; a good Battlefield walk (1471 - War of the Roses) across adjacent fields with information panels throughout and leaflet (£1) from Tourist Information office ; Beautiful Abbey; Riverside walks and pleasant boat trips; Museum and separate Heritage Centre, and a nature park for more walks, on the flood plain. The sitting room was large with a dining table and plenty of comfortable seating. It was clean and tidy on arrival and located in a quiet street only a very few minutes away from the High Street eateries, pubs Abbey and museums. Tewkesbury is a lovely place to visit and we enjoyed our stay here very much. The owner sent us clear instructions for accessing the building etc and responded to questions clearly and promptly. The staff were friendly and the breakfast was very good. The bar has a good selection of beers and has a good atmosphere with a terrace outside.
