Upscale accommodation, modern with traditional feel . Superb attentive service from a team, all local, who clearly are totally invested in making your stay as wonderful as it can Restaurant here has always been superb and again did not disappoint. Room rural view and very quiet. Just loved it. Already looking forward to the next stay.

The beautiful building and surrounds and caring staff. Beth at Reception was so helpful when I let her know I was on antibiotics and in great pain, something that had come on during the previous 48 hrs.

Gary and Jennifer are the perfect hosts. Nothing is too much trouble. Backside Lodge is equipped with everything you could possibly need and more. Lovely warm welcome on arrival. Homemade scones, biscuits, sweets, bottle water, bottle of beer and a bottle of wine waiting in the lodge for use. A lovely touch to a perfect stay. The bed was so comfortable and the lide was extremely clean. Can't wait to go back.

A lovely country pub with excellent facilities in a really nice village. Our room was a very generous size with ensuite. Everything was clean and well prepared. The owners made us feel at home and very welcome. We had a lovely breakfast.

I would love to say this place is horrid so as to allow us to be selfish but I can’t. It is truly a place to cherish. Both Charlotte and Josh are so welcoming, the cottage is immaculate, the setting bliss, the tranquility astounding. As you turn into the drive you are met by nature, then as you continue you see the farm in all its majesty.

    The property is in a wonderfully peaceful location.

    The property is in a wonderfully peaceful location. Perfect to relax with friends, walking, and not too far to drive to York town centre. The only pub in the village is lovely with a great Sunday roast but as its the only place to eat make sure you book in advance! Although we didn't meet the hosts it was very easy to contact them if we had any questions.

    The menu and food in The Blacksmiths Arms ( to which the appartment is attached) are fabulous. So is the atmosphere and not having to travel home at the end of the evening Honeysuckle appartment above the pub is cosy and comfortable, with good facilities
