We love your bar are the two gentlemen on duty that night we’re just spectacular. We had been told no dinner table until 7.45 but did not advise us we could eat in the bar…….Tony took care of everything. Alex was also very prompt with requests and polite in our dealings. Great evening meal.

Set right on the harbours edge, this cute little cottage style accommodation is a great place to stay in. In the heart of Whitby and at the foot of the 199 steps that lead to the Abbey, you cannot fault the location. The room looks out to the harbour & over towards the Captain Cook statue on top of the adjacent hillside. At night the sound of the water is very therapeutic & the lights across the way are stunning as they reflect in the water. The host was very pleasant & helpful. I would definitely recommend this place for a great stay in the charming town of Whitby.

    Whitby is a gem.

Whitby is a gem. There are lots of independent shops for food, gifts, local products and clothing. It’s friendly and quieter in the week but buzzing at the weekend. You can sit and have a coffee/drink and watch harbour life just happen. There are 4 excellent museums: Captain Cook, RNLI, Whitby history and Whitby Abbey. Stunning views all round. Steeped in history. Trenchers seafood restaurant is excellent for food and service. The Indian restaurant/takeaway and Chinese takeaway both close to the train station are really tasty and excellent value.

I loved the old town, cobbled narrow streets, the 199 steps up to the Abby and leading to Whitby Brewery. The views from the top of the steps were absolutely beautiful. Lots of quirky characterful shops, great little pubs with wide selection of drinks and some wonderful restaurants serving amazingly delicious food. Absolutely love Whitby and will definitely be back.

Busy town at the weekend. Got quieter during the week (early October). Lovely beach, dog friendly between October and end of May which was perfect for us. Our dogs had a fantastic time! Great places to eat. Didn't have time to try everywhere, so we'll definitely be back!

Whitby is famous for its connection to Dracula, the story being that Bram Stoker was inspired by seeing a coffin being taken up the 199 stairs to St Mary's Church and Whitby Abbey. It is a lovely town with many small shops on both sides of the harbour. St Mary's is a beautiful and very unusual church and the abbey is also spectacular. There are shops on both sides of the harbour and many cafes and restaurants. Further afield is Robin Hood's bay which is a quaint and very pretty village. There are also many walks from Robin Hood's bay as well as a very long beach. This is a lovely area to explore.

This is a gem of a hotel. Excellent friendly welcoming staff. The hotel has its own car park virtually opposite with room for about 12 cars. The hotel situated in a quiet area is about a ten minute walk from the centre of Whitby. Our room was spacious..........breakfast was excellent with a good choice ie full English, smoked salmon and scrambled egg, kippers etc. We had dinner at the hotel twice during our three night stay which was a varied choice. Both breakfast and dinner was served at your table - silver service - couldn't be faulted.

Having read some reviews, we were a little wary. However, we were very pleasantly surprised. The hotel is in a brilliant location, with views across Whitby and right in front of the whalebone arch. Our room was very clean, comfortable and a good size. We opted for the sea view room and loved the views. There was a lovely lounge area to sit and have drinks, as well as an outdoor area. They were very dog friendly which was a great bonus.

The hotel was in the perfect location in Whitby. We stayed here for a wedding at Sneaton Castle and it was a 5-10 minute taxi journey. The following day we walked to the harbour. The car park around the corner is ideal and there are lots of bars in the area. The hotel was clean, updated and amazing views from our room.
