The villa is finished to a very high standard and the outdoor seating areas and bbq are brilliant. There is also a view of the sea. The walk to the beach is along a road but very easy. Haris recommended a restaurant in the Port which was very nice and we also ate lunch on the beach at Karavostasi beach twice (the first one as you go down the steps to the beach). We preferred this bay to Livadi but you do have to drive there. We bought very nice meat from the butchers Haris recommended in the port. Rethymon old town is well worth a visit and we also went to Lake Kournas. We had a really relaxing stay and wish it could have been longer. Balion is truly a little haven, a laid back, easy going...
Balion is truly a little haven, a laid back, easy going place with lots of cute little sandy bays, and several restaurants, shops and bars in each of its bays. and the little Dotti train will take you all around them and drop you off for just a couple of euros: it was reasonably busy when we were there 29th Sept - 7th Oct 2025 ) but it is by no means over run with tourists. it still retains its lovely laid back relaxing charm and is a place that feels comfortable and safe. The 'sea vessel' ( hotel ) has a bar / cocktail bar that fast became our favourite place, ( it also has crazy golf and a poole table) the guy that runs it is lovely and very friendly, with great cocktails and at fabulous prices. We loved it there and in Bali overall. My personal favourite past time whilst there was feeding all the stray cats every evening whilst hubby drank a glass of wine and waited for me 🥰 🥰 we will return. 👍♥️Guest review byDonnaGermany - 10.0

At the time of our visit ( 29th Sept - 7th Oct 2025 ) the place was simply perfect, warm / hot sunny days and not overcrowded anywhere. We had a blissful stay and enjoyed the short walks in and out of town ... We also loved the little local 'chugga chug' train round all the bays, fabulous idea and always on time ! I particularly enjoyed feeding all the local cats every evening whilst hubby sat with a glass of wine at a nearby cafe / bar plenty of little supermarkets everywhere, a smaller but ample choice of places to eat, and all of the little bays in Balion were really nice 👍♥️Guest review byDonnaGermany - 10.0

This is quite an expensive area to stay in, with no chain supermarkets nearby and fully privatized beaches. However, the surroundings are extremely beautiful. There’s a bakery-coffee shop that’s great for local baked goods and budget-friendly coffees and sandwiches. The hotel is located at the top of a hill in Bali Bay, a peaceful and calm area. On one side is Bali Beach, and on the other, Karavostasi Beach. Both beaches are just a 5-minute walk from the apartments, making it very convenient to visit either. The apartments offer their own spacious parking, a restaurant, and sun loungers by Bali Beach, all with excellent service from the staff.
