It has a lovely beach and great local places to eat and a few shops to browse. Good, cheap bus connection to other parts of the island. There are trails that I'd like to try but didn't. It's quiet at night and the views are beautiful. Excellent place to stay with young children.
Excellent place to stay with young children. The sea is shallow and the beach sandy. Everything is in walking distance and the tavernas line the beach meaning you can enjoy a meal or drink whilst children play in the sand. The bay around Kamares has numerous swimming & snorkeling spots off the rocks, recommend the Nth side. Then there's the never ending beach! We swam every morning, with the fish, in crystal water, before breakfast. Great atmosphere at night. Best Italian at Da Claudio, best coffee at Stavros. Excellent shopping. The room was clean, comfortable and had everything I needed. I extended my stay and ended up staying for a whole week there! Parking was available right outside the properly and was only a short walk (<2mins) to Kamares and the shops/restaurants, which made this spot a little more peaceful and quiet. All the staff - from the managers to the breakfast and cleaning staff - were friendly and helpful. The breakfast was wonderful - varied, fresh and delicious, including home made pastries. The hotel is a stone's throw from the main street but elevated enough to be quiet ... and it was less than 10 minutes to the beach and its crystal clear waters.
