The beach is fine, enough place for everyone, but I would not stay there longer than one day beacause the sand is only on the beach and when you enter the sea there is only lava. It was interesting experience, but I would definitely not recommend especially if you are travelling with children - it is very slippery and it is easy to fall down and hurt yourself on a rock. Kamari is great to visit.
Kamari is great to visit. Nothing is too far, you can get the local buses to Fira, or the airport. I went on a full day tour and visited most places such as pyrgos, tharisia island, hot springs, volcano, Oia for sunset. All very beautiful. You have to trek the scenic view from Oia to Fira- one of the best walks in the world! Every place I ate was delicious. Never had a disappointing meal.Guest review byHelenUnited Kingdom - 10.0

Lots of lovely tavernas and bars. The locals are really friendly. Take beach shoes as the pebbles can be painful under foot. Be careful to find out where the rocks in the sea are slippery. The beach closer towards the rock (The Hook Bar end) has a safer entrance to the sea. Dimitris Greek night is great fun, there is an open air cinema close by, too! Great reviews. We loved our accommodation at thousand stars and highly recommend it. Took a private highlight tour of the island which was amazing. Negatives on Kamari include swimming at the beach which was very hazardous when entering and leaving the water due to the lava levels underfoot. The people working there were so nice and always ready to help out. Having breakfast on the terrace with those crazy good sea views was the best part of every day. A quiet, green oasis in Santorini a 10-15 min walk to Kamari town and beach. We were greeted by Kozeta when we arrived. Lovely lady who explained everything and cleaned our apt daily. Wonderful apt with comfy beds, kitchen, and big bathroom, and a garden to relax in. Bottled water, coffee, tea, oil, salt and pepper provided, as well as a complimentary basket of fresh fruit (a terrific and much appreciated surprise). Staff is the best, so warm and welcoming, we felt like we were staying at home. Room and garden design is incredible, bathroom almost feels like a spa:) Swimming pool area is very nice with sunbeds, and the water temperature is perfect.
