The area we stayed in was very quiet. There was a beautiful restaurant on the sea front and a bakery nearby but that's it. Sami has lots of bars, shops and restaurants and is a twenty minute walk along the scenic sea front. Strategic location in the middle of the island - everything is close. Quiet and clean village with a good bakery close to the hotel (with breakfasts and a good coffee). And mainly - Antisamos Beach is just 15 minutes drive from Karavomylos. It's for sure the best beach in Kefalonia, don't look for any other. Karavomylos is a beautiful location by the sea.
Karavomylos is a beautiful location by the sea. The thoroughfare has shops and all amenities you would need. The area by the water is just stunning and we cannot recommend it highly enough. Our favourite place to eat is at the Karavomylos Taverna, where Georgios and his staff make you feel very welcome. The food in incredible! We booked this hotel as we were going to Ithaca, and wanted to stay close to the port for our ferry. The hotel is easy to find, has a nice pool/bar area and is close to the sea. Also, around a 10 min walk to many local restaurants, cafes and bars, 2 min walk to the seafront. The hotel has a nice view and a nice swimming that allow to have a nice rest after a long day of visit or walk. They gave us advice for visit and a small present for departure.
