Monemvasia is a lovely village built at the base of an island reachable by a bridge. There are two great spots to swim on the island side of the bridge, on of which is quite sheltered by rocks so we were able to take a dip although the wind and waves were strong. Monemvasia is a beautiful destination, where one feels instantly relaxed and at peace. Besides the slight difficulty in finding parking outside of the castle and the small "hike" that might entail for the more unlucky ones, the scenery inside is absolutely worth it. With that being said, it served it's purpose. It was very very close to the Monemvasia medieval town and was very easy to access. The water in the showers was always nice and hot (which is hard to find in Greece), but the design of the bathroom is a bit odd haha. If you are just here for 1 or 2 nights i think it's perfect.
