Absolutely great! Lovely rooms, the beach is just in front of the great garden. Shops and many restaurants within 5 minutes. Cool beach bars are literally a few steps away. Professional and very kind hosts, do not hesitate for a second to spend a wonderful time here with your family or friends.

This was an excellent place to stay. The setting was quiet yet within 150m of shops, restaurants and the beach. The place was spotlessly clean. Our apartment was serviced everyday. Clean towels every second day, beds changed every third day. Bins changed everyday and they kept the bathroom and floors spotless. Breakfast was very good, there was something for everyone. The staff were wonderful, kind and attentive. The pool area was always quiet and it was easy to get a bed. There is plenty of room for very safe parking but you can easily survive without a car. The bus stop for Chania is just down the road. It comes every 20 mins and costs €2 which you can pay with your debit/credit card. You’ll be in the Old Town in 20 mins. The bus also goes to Kissamos in the opposite direction and would cost a little more. Be sure to bring your own sun cream. It’s about the only expensive thing in the shops and Lidl, strangely, don’t stock it.

Beautiful, clean hotel with friendly, helpful staff. The pool area was really lovely with plenty of comfortable sunbeds available. The breakfast was very nice with a good choice each morning which could be enjoyed either indoors or outdoors with a lovely view of the pool and sea across the road. We were B&B only but we did eat in the hotel one of the evenings and the food was delicious, probably one of our favourite meals of the holiday. We also ate lunch by the pool and that was equally nice. The cocktails were very good too! The room we had was perfect for a couple but a little tight for us (couple and 17 year old). Our 17 year old was sleeping on a sofa bed that was ok but more suited to a smaller child. The room itself was very clean with everything we needed including a little kitchenette area. It was cleaned daily and fresh towels every day. We had a late flight the day we checked out but the hotel was very accommodating with a luggage room to store our bags and fresh towels provided for us to shower in the courtesy room. There is a mini market on site that has everything you might need and very competitively priced too. There isn’t a lot to see or do in the immediate vicinity of the hotel however there is a bus stop right outside the front of the hotel that takes you to Chania old town where there are an abundance of shops and restaurants. The bus can be extremely busy, especially early evening and they pack it as much as they can so be aware of this as it made for a couple of unpleasant journeys. We found the slightly later bus a better option. The journey costs just €2 per person. We would highly recommend this hotel and hope to return again one day.

Massive thing i wish i knew before is the bus system is the cheapest form of travel to and from the Chania airport and is fairly quick and regular, prices starting from 2.50 euros .Stalos was a perfect destination for all age groups , clean , all the bars and restaurants are family/locally owned and all the people are freindly and polite . The beach is clean and easily accessible .

We reached from Heraklion to chania via bus and rented...

We reached from Heraklion to chania via bus and rented scooter. We reached property in the evening and visited harbor and lighthouse. Had a stroll through the street and had dinner. Next day (day 2) we went to visit monastery and seitan lamnia. It was a great day with a good ride and trekking. Highly recommendable to young people who like to face fear of heights and enjoy trekking. The beach was awesome. Came back, freshed up, enjoyed sunset in the nearby beach of Melina's House, had dinner from Indian Restaurant and came back. On day 3, we went to Starlos (turquoise beach), had a swim and came back by 11am, checked out by 12pm.

Stalos has some lovely family restaurants.

Stalos has some lovely family restaurants. We used the local supermarkets and shops so didnt need to travel for provisions. There is a good bus service to local beaches and shops if needed. After investigating nearby beaches we took a taxi to Iguana Beach regularly as there were sunbeds and a little cafe close by. We had a 9 year old with us so it was important to be on a safe beach with shallow waters. There are also lifeguards on the beach.

Very Greek with magnificent views of the bay.

Very Greek with magnificent views of the bay. Glorious sunsets. Local shops don’t stock much food at all - we got the impression the hotels ‘discourage’ it, which is not good for local tradespeople. Local economies are part of real sustainability so this is important.

Great location although it would be useful to give accurate information on how to find the small access road off the main road once you leave the highway. The hotel itself was great and has good views over the coastline. It is also close to loads of restaurants. The owner is very amiable and gifts a small bottle of local extra virgin olive oil with the hotel name when you check out as a useful aide memoire.

Stalos is a small and quiet town, at 30 minutes drive from Chania, with a beautiful beach and good tavernas. If you prefer to be far away from touristic and crowded places and if you have a car, this is the perfect place to be.

An excellent position, quiet but close to everything. A simple strutture made cool and beautful by a sea of flowering plants and attention to details. The owner and manager, Klery, is a very special lady who does everything in her power to make your stay both comfortable and memorable. Little extras such as raki, marmelade and so on awaiting you after a hard day on the beach! If we ever return to Kato Stalos it will be to Hotel Kleopatra.

Phaedra Hotel has an amazing, salt-water pool with a beautiful view of the sea. They offer sunbeds and parasols on the sandy beach, free of charge. You can eat delicious meals at the pool bar. Everyone is kind and helpful, the rooms are clean, the garden and the pool area are well maintained. It's an ideal place to relax and forget about all your worries. Heaven on Earth. 🥰

Excellent breakfast, great communication and service. We spent 4 nights here with my family, everything was without problems, the hotel is located on the edge of a long hotel avenue, an ideal choice for those who will explore Crete by car, there is a large parking lot at the hotel, a bus connection to nearby Chania is also possible.

Perfect stay in Stalos. Full furnished and modern apartment, clean and comfortable, especially the mattress. The hosts are very welcoming, nice and always available. It was the best stay we had in Crete (we went around the island changing 5 studios).
