Arriving by boat from Rio Dulce the boat dropped me off right at their pier and departing for Punta Gorda the boat picked me up at their pier. Nice and handy to town. But what made the stay exceptional was the owner Stuart, an American that has been there for decades and knows the area extremely well. Myself only speaking English, Stuart's help with immigration & booking the boat to take me to Belize was above and beyond any place I've stayed around the world.

The best reason for staying here is the manager, Giovanni. He is a bilingual jewel. Great with arranging trips up the Rio Dulce but even more describing the history of the area.

The Camp is located at a wonderful small beach, surrounded by palm trees and mangrove forest. The whole small camp is designed were nicely and made with a lot of love. It has a very nice chill/kitchen area with a large table to get together with the other guests and volunteers. We could join the family dinner and breakfast for some extra money, which was very tasty. We did rent kayaks and went to the mangrove forest. The host Laurence helped a lot in preparing the trip and gave us a lot of information to arrive to the camp and go to Livingston. She was very helpful and kind as the other guest were. I would recommend to stay at least three nights, but a few days longer would probably be even better.

The whole experience was next level. The accommodation was a dream, the staff was superb, and the meals were unbelievably delicious and hearty. Booked only for one night, so next time, I will also take some of the great tours they offer (e.g., the sunrise kayak tour or a hike to the waterfalls nearby). I warmly recommend this place!

La Isla Dulce is the best accommodation we've ever stayed at. It lacked nothing! Everything was built with such attention to detail. The food was delicious (very good quality!!), our room was a dream and the couple Darja & Douglas and the other staff were as warm and helpful as you rarely see. We had the best shower here and everything was clean and comfortable. Our stay was the perfect end to an incredibly wonderful trip. We would have loved to stay longer, as it felt like a spa retreat. Thank you for everything!
