LOVED the thermal pools, we spent hours immersing ourselves in the range of bathing temperatures, would DEFINETLY REPEAT next time ! However, the Ruin bars were a significant disappointment, seemed to be an artifice for tourist instagrams. Astounding architecture and magnificent views. We decided entrance prices were too exaggerated to go inside many official historical buildings, but lovely from the outside. Absolutely fantastic city for culture, history, and to enjoy the Danube. The city is buzzing with music and art - we pretty much had live music every night over dinner. The Fisherman's Bastion and the Matthias Church were absolute highlights. The parliament building is the most beautiful parliament building you'll ever see. The cruise is super worth it. I have now been twice and seen most of the cultural hotspots. This time we went to go to the ballet at the Opera HOuse. Performance very good and theatre very comfortable. I absolutely love Budapest – the city is full of life, history, and beautiful architecture. Walking along the Danube and exploring both Buda and Pest is always a special experience. Every district in Budapest has its own soul and unique vibe, both day and night, even outside the center.
