The strong point of this place is the staff, really nice and prepared guys who make you feel good right away, it is possible to do tours in the jungle with them, we did the two-day one with our guides Rismanto and Risky who made us feel great, they are really wonderful people. The staff were so great. Andi organised us a great jungle tour and we saw heaps of orangutans. They also got us scooters to hire which was very helpful. The breakfast was also delicious and plentiful. Pancakes or scrambled egg on toast with a plate of fresh fruit. Great value for money, definitely recommend.

For the price we paid the room was great - overlooking the river, with a big terrace, comfortable bed and huge downstairs bathroom with hot water (not common in Bukit Lawang) - we loved it after the jungle trekking! Cosmetics were provided for our convenience. The restaurant served good food (better than some nearby places) and Bintang for a reasonable price.

Where to begin. From the moment we arrived (at 10.30pm might I add, when the staff picked us up from the car park), we were warmly welcomed and looked after. Everyone was so kind. They all knew our names and provided exceptional service. The view from the restaurant is incredible and probably the best in Bukit Lawang being on the corner of the street with a path to the river to swim. You can sit there for hours taking in the view and ordering delicious food. The room was lovely and spacious. Very clean. I was worried about creepy crawlies but only saw butterflies. Now for the trek. The staff arranged our 2N3D trek with Ebo and Anen and the chef (whose name we have forgotten but the food was some of the best we have ever had). This was one of the best experiences we have ever had. Both guides were knowledgeable, friendly, caring and gave us the most memorable time. Ebo’s English is fantastic. He was so kind to us and taught us so much in the jungle. Anen prepared us fresh fruit on every trek break. Both had a great sense of humour and helped us see 5 orangutang and other wildlife. It was so relaxing and serene. We couldn’t recommend them more. We were so sad when it was over and are missing it already.
