I had a wonderful stay here and extended my trip twice!. The room was exceptionally comfortable with a fantastic bed and bathroom, which is hard to find in the region. The air conditioning and proper shower were much appreciated. The staff and owners were very friendly and accommodating, handling any additional requests with ease. The food was delicious with great variety and generous portions. On my last night, I was upgraded to a sea villa, where sleeping to the sounds of the water was a delightful experience. The jetty provided a lovely walk with stunning views. Strong wifi was a bonus, allowing me to stream the F1 race live. The hotel offers plenty of activities like canoeing and snorkeling, which can be organized directly with them. They accept various payment methods, including credit cards and QR payments. Overall, it was a memorable stay, and I highly recommend this hotel.

My Stay at Friwen Mangrove Eco Lodge – Highlights Perfect Location: * Right in front of Friwen Wall, one of Raja Ampat’s top snorkeling spots. * A short walk to a stunning secret beach on Friwen Island. * Across from a small island where you might spot dugongs during early morning high tide. Comfortable & Eco-Friendly: * Overwater bungalows with private balconies—wake up to breathtaking sunrises. * 24/7 electricity powered by solar panels. * Starlink Wi-Fi for reliable internet, even in this remote paradise. * No mosquitoes during our January visit! Amazing Food: * Delicious meals prepared by a talented Malaysian chef—every dish was superb. Outstanding Hospitality: * Rachid, the host, went above and beyond, even snorkeling with us to show hidden gems. we dived with Corepen Dive and Tarzan Divers. We much MUCH preferred Corepen Dive people that came to pick us up, were friendly and knowledgeable and accommodated our desires. We disliked Tarzan Dive Center which is more like a factory where the owners and her crew were just bored to death on each dive ( with the exception of the charming Merilla). Verdict: Friwen Mangrove Eco Lodge is a perfect mix of adventure, relaxation, and eco-conscious comfort. Highly recommend!

Closeness to nature, which is still unspoiled. Lots of birds, fishes and ofcourse the marine life that is easy accessible from PapuArts Alter Native Stay. Family feeling; easily to feel at home with this lovely family of four (Helga, Timon and their 2 beautiful young daughters who love to make friends). Oh, and I forgot their two sweet dogs Ringo & Dingo 🐾🐾 Owners are very helpful and speak several languages so easy to communicate with them. Internet is sometimes a bit unstable so take that into account when expecting speedy replies (sometimes it just doesn’t work and patience is a good thing to have). The food - home style cooking (breakfast, lunch and dinner are all cooked by the owner and her team and she is a great cook; we loved every meal which was perfectly catered to our vegetarian / pescatarian wishes) The rooms are close to nature as well, with very comfy beds (we stayed in both the smaller and the biggest family room, which easily fits 3 respectively 4 people; the 3rd bed in the smaller room has a wonderful treehouse feeling and there is a bunkbed in the biggest room). Hard to capture the beauty of the rooms in just one picture (I took several but could only post one here with my review). You can hear the sea and birds from your bedroom. It’s right next to you. No frills, just natural materials, which we loved. Also no warm water, but easily to get used to. There’s a shower and mandi style shower. Also your own toilet. Plus the blue blue sea right at your doorstep and a lovely sitting area with a hammock to complete the zen-feeling. There’s a long jetty into the sea with a perfect spot for exercise/meditation/yoga at the end. Fitness with a view! It’s quiet and feels very private. You instantly feel relaxed here. Different excursions to choose from, both on land and on/under the sea. Please note: these come at an extra cost and Raja Ampat area is not cheap!!!! Overall, this is the best accommodation we had on our travels and it was difficult for us to say goodbye to the many lovely people.  The director and manager were just as attentive as the two women in the kitchen and in service.  They constantly but unobtrusively looked after our well-being and supported us wherever they could. The bungalows were very clean and well equipped.  There was always hot water and the air conditioning worked well.  Our heartfelt thanks go to Nona in the restaurant and Ibu in the kitchen.

I spent a wonderful week here, every minute was an experience. Every single employee is incredibly kind and helpful, the area is beautiful. I would come back anytime without a second thought! Thank you everyone

The homestay is idyllic and secluded. We were right on the water, the porch is nicely decorated, there's a table and chairs so in the evenings we could easily play cards. In the day, if we weren't diving with Corepen (they come and collect you and drop you off), we would snorkel on the coral reef in front of the homestay which is fantastic! We saw a turtle, ray, squid, clown fish, a shark etc. All three meals are included and Lina's cooking is amazing. We would eat fresh fish everyday. Portion size is very generous so you won't be going hungry. Lina and Arnes are so kind and gentle hosts we couldn't recommend this more. Their English is very limited so just make sure you download a translator app if you don't have data (there's no WiFi). The amenities are basic and you get electricity from around 6:30pm-10:30pm but for us, this only added to its charm. When we passed other homestays, we were always grateful for picking Efenli.

My girlfriend and I stayed at Raflow Resort for 5 nights and we’ve had a lovely time! The staff is incredibly friendly and helpful. The staff will go the extra mile to make sure you have a fabulous and memorable stay in paradise. If you let them know what activities you would like to do, they will organize it for you. The food is phenomenal; everyday there is a selection of fresh fish, chicken, rice, various vegetables and fresh fruit. The rooms are clean and comfortable (soft bed, hot shower, spacious) and the AC is a real plus, we didn’t encounter any mosquitos. Overall a great place to stay a couple nights to explore Waigeo!

The homestay is really nice! It’s by the beach and you have lots of corals just in front. The food is excellent :) The family is very welcoming and nice I highly recommend :)

A great dive centre with a good dive master (Jerry) which made our dives enjoyable. Food was always aplenty and the amenities were the best we had stayed at, with our own shower, toilet, fresh and hot water. The reception was helpful in answering any questions we had and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
