The riverfront shops, multiple cuisines worth of restaurants, and other sights are well worth a wander through. I enjoyed the preserved bits of industrial history, as well as how that intersects with the Yeats trail. With the exception of the abbey, the town of Sligo isn't a particularly strong attraction. The surrounding countryside is another matter. Downpatrick Head, the town and beach of Mullaghmore, Keash Caves, Queen Maeve's Cairn, Union Rock, walks along the shores of Lough Gill, are all easily accessible by car from a base in the town and well worth a visit.Guest review byJohnCanada - 10.0

It is just a great hotel with lovely big rooms and a cracking breakfast. Staff are great and it has a lovely pool and spa. What more could you want? You're situated in the perfect spot to get the best out of Sligo. Right beside the city, two mins from rosses point, and about 15 mins from strandhill.
