Very nice town.

The idea base camp for time spent in the Westfjords region. If you have a rental car, you can drive anywhere else you'd like to see, but Ísafjörður has the most options for town activities. The location in the fjord is incredible. I would visit again.Guest review byMichael - 10
This town is wonderful and quaint.
This town is wonderful and quaint. The setting is stunning, with mountains surrounding the entire town. The people there are very friendly, and it is easy to walk around. The streets have beautiful flower plantings, and there is a fun nughtclub where you can meet local townspeople. We highly recommend it!Guest review byLori - 10
Stayed two nights in this gem of a town.
Stayed two nights in this gem of a town. First night we camped and it was a fantastic campground. Second night was calling for snow so stayed in the hostel. Best Bonus grocery store we have seen with prices much less than anywhere else in Iceland.Guest review byKaraCanada - 10

The drive to Isafjorour we stopped at Dynjandi Waterfall...
The drive to Isafjorour we stopped at Dynjandi Waterfall called Thundering Waterfall. It is actually several waterfalls topped by a bridal veil large fall. Well worth the steep hike up. One of the most beautiful waterfall we visited in Iceland. The drive back toward Reykjavik was stunning along five fjords and many waterfalls. Glacier views. Lava fields. And mountains. So wanted to eat at Tjoruhusid. But needed a reservation and could not get in. Recommend making a reservation before you leave home. Plenty of room for two couples, although one pair would be on a sofa bed curtained off from the (still large) living room. Has it's own parking place fronting the street (as is almost everyone else's). Great WIFI as always in Iceland, and the town is (for Iceland) quite large and has a nice vibe with plenty of restaurants and cafes in a great location with terrific coastal/fjord/glaciated landscape scenery.Guest review byHughGermany

I have a problem with my suitcase because I accidentally left my key inside it but the woman at the reception just offered a scissor to destroy the lock. She was unconcern of my plight.
