This is a great place to stay for a couple of days.
This is a great place to stay for a couple of days. The town is small but charming, and there a multiple day hikes close by. If you are doing the ring road, this might be a nice spot for two nights to rest up a bit. You might catch a glimpse of the Faroe Islands/Denmark Ferry that comes in once a week. This is a pleasant town in a strikingly beautiful location between mountains and a fjord. Apart from the surrounding beauty, the town is tranquil (out of season) and very walkable. We understand that things heat up during the summer season. There are a handful of restaurants and a well-stocked supermarket. During working hours the town suffers from strong fishy odors coming from the local fish processing factory. In short, it is a must-see stop on any tour of Iceland.Guest review byzevCanada

Even the key fob is stylish. The staff was super nice, the room was reminiscent of a Wes Anderson movie and the surrounding is stunning. In case you wonder, this is the same hotel featured in the movie The Secret Life of Walter Mitty right after he skateboards down a mountain road (which is the mountain road that leads to the town).
