Hospitality and comfort at Rachel’s house truly shine. If you're traveling by car, you'll find convenient paid parking at Piazza Matteotti, just a few steps away and reasonably priced. Rachele will then welcome you with a kind smile and will take time to give a detailed explanation of the apartment. Her kind gesture of allowing a late check-in time made our arrival stress-free and it was greatly appreciated. The apartment itself is ABSOLUTELY STUNNING, perfectly located in the heart of Altamura, directly facing the Cathedral. Despite its central position, it is very peaceful and quiet, offering a calming retreat after exploring the city and surroundings. The photos online don’t do it justice; in person, the apartment is even more captivating and charming than what you might expect. It is really a magical experience. Every corner is adorned with beautiful art pieces and thoughtful decorations that add a personal and artistic touch. Both beds (in the master room and the couch bed) are very comfortable. In the morning, you will be served with a lovely breakfast including freshly baked pastries and jams homemade by Rachele. She even prepared a delicious fried egg for my partner, a sweet little indulgence just for him <3 ! Rachele even went the extra mile by arranging a dinner reservation for us at a local `osteria`, where we were treated wonderfully despite the very late arrival. We totally loved it. Honestly, Rachel’s House is a hidden gem in Altamura. It was probably the best stay of the whole vacation, creating for us a very memorable experience. We highly recommended it for anyone seeking comfort, charm, kindness and beauty. I will certainly come back, but next time, I will make sure to stay at Rachel`s house longer.

Exceptional place to stay and highly recommend..Angelo was extremely helpful and picked me up from Bari Centrale making my arrival at the B&B seamless. The location of the apartment was 2 minutes from the main cathedral and square. Angelo made sure that I knew what festivals were on during my stay and where to visit. We love Altamura and its people. My grandparents came from here and it feels like home. The culture and rhythm of this city truly reflects Italian Life! It is not overpopulated with tourists. Definitely worth coming to if you want to feel relaxed and be a part of Italian life!

Beautiful old town with typical cafes in the cathedral...

Beautiful old town with typical cafes in the cathedral square and lots of verdant courtyards and narrow alleys all built of shining white limestone. Excellent museum very close to the old town with an exceptional anthropological section. Most places were a short walk from our accomodation including an excellent restaurant. Driving was a nightmare because of the manic one-way systems and flashing orange traffic lights.

Altamura is place full of life.

Altamura is place full of life. Every evening people of all ages are out enjoying a stroll or an aperitivo. It is very lively, suitable for families travelling with older teenagers who are usually bored in the evenings. Food is amazing. It is also very conveniently placed between Bari (beautiful bigger city with an old town, beautiful promenade and lots of shops ) and Matera , the so-called stone city, the oldest city in Italy, a must-see.

Very quaint city.

Very quaint city. Took tour of Caseificio Di Cecco and Panifico Di Gesu and loved it very much.Had supper at Baby Di Cecco for wine and cheese tasting at the Mercadente Forest- Yum! Old city is beautiful.Had lunch at oldest bakery- notice Forno Santa Caterina and it was great ! should visit!

Atamura was impressive for a small town of 75000 people to...

Atamura was impressive for a small town of 75000 people to the big city feel, I loved the restaurants and the bread and focaccia, the traditional food was out of this world no matter witch restaurant we went. I loved that there's people out until 2:00 am and felt safe walking around the city the people were friendly and helpful I would recomment and stay in Altamura again.

Beautiful town, lovely old cathedral and historic town centre. Tourists tend to visit Matera that is 40 minutes away, and shops/bars/restaurants etc in Altamura shut from lunchtime for a few hours, so visits need to be planned when all is open. Lovely bakeries which sell regional breads/pastries. Public transport services seem good, but we hired a car. Very friendly locals.

Large and comfortable room. Large and functional balcony with drying facilities. Very useful for stay of more than 1 night. Excellent location within 10 minute walk of city centre. Allowed early check in by remote host and by lovely lady who cleans. Easy and helpful check in instructions. Also, for longer stays I note good supermarket, pasticceria, bread shop and fruit and vegetables shops nearby.

This was a basement apartment in a central location in Altamura. It was a reasonable price. The facilities were basic but as expected at this price and sufficient for a one night stay. There is a lovely cafe called Svevo nearby who makes superb cakes and pastries. Also, the famous ancient bread ovens of the town.
