Lovely small hotel, it is quite simple, nothing “fancy”. It is very clean and nice and the staff are outstanding. The breakfast is very very good, as is the restaurant and the staff.

Very quiet and peaceful place, easy to find and easy to get around by car. Lovely pool, excellent food, lots of parking, very good AC system, very good water pressure in the large shower. Communication with the host was easy and efficient and we were made to feel very much at home!

Staying at giancarlo's was an amazing experience, felt like staying at a baron's mansion 1000 years ago. Breakfast was a treat, all local or homemade. Highly recommended for anyone traveling through Sicily.

The location was exactly what we wanted. The staff was really nice, we even came a bit early due to the upcoming thunderstorm and the owners welcomed in a very warm manner. Although we had the unlucky draw to have a huge thunderstorm while we were there, so going out during the afternoon was not an option, we used this to opportunity to rest and to watch Netflix in bed, which luckily was available on TV. After thre thunderstorm had passed, we saw a double rainbow from the balcony! This, we will never forget. The most amazing of all things in Casale Micale is the breakfast. The view outside while we were having breakfast was simply amazing, you can see the hills, the city of Noto, and the sea. The breakast itself was tasty and diverse, both salty and sweet food were offered. The staff did an amazing job and we left very satisfied. Also, the room was half in stone which was really cool.

The family was very welcoming and helpful. The daughter spoke very good English, which helped overcome our almost non existant Italian.The facilities and rooms were very clean and spacious. The kitchen was well equipped with an outdoor bbq if required. The aircon was really cool. There was a lounge with a TV and Netflix. Outside, there was a large private patio with dining tables and an area with swinging chairs sheltered from the sun and overlooking the carrubbo, olive, and fig trees. Very quiet at night. And the local town has several good eating places which don't open until around 7.30 but rapidly fill up when they do. The family has a restaurant and gelateria down at the coast. The ice cream is genuinely wonderful, I have had a lot of Italian ice cream, and this ranks in the top 3. It is a good base to see Modica, Ragusa, and Notto. But we just enjoyed being there for a few days as well.

Casa Balat is a fantastic home, very beautiful, quiet, comfortable and well equipped. Our family of 5 (3 kids 20, 18, 14) had a wonderful stay. We were feeling so good in this home that it was painful to leave for couple of hours for visiting around.

Unique experience in Sicilia‘s middle of nowhere. Rebuilt monastery, small agriturismo hotel, managed by one of the best host - Domenico - one can imagine, super friendly, funny & great hints for local activities & open to give insights in Sicily history & culture.
