This is the best place we have ever stayed at in our 35 years of global travel, Christina was an absolute fantastic host we highly recommend this beautiful B&B to anyone who is looking for beautiful Italian charm from a forgotten era, Christina has done a remarkable job with this place and I have to mention the breakfast was outstanding especially her home made Berry Crostata tart. Everything ! I can normally find fault with just about anything - but I'm struggling here. Petronilla is a small boutique hotel in a quiet street close to the centre of the lower town. It is well positioned to walk up to the older, picturesque upper town (or for the funicular). The hotel is well appointed and comfortable - we were upgraded, so all rooms may not be quite as good as ours: spacious, tastefully decorated with a vast bed and equally huge bathroom. The road outside was very quiet at night for a city centre - even on the night Atalanta beat AC Milan. Breakfast was outstanding (I would particularly recommend the cheese omelette). But what really stands out here is the professionalism, friendliness and helpfulness of the staff who were all absolutely outstanding. Many thanks to you all - now where is that sixth star when you need it ?

The service was outstanding! Lovely staff who booked a restaurant and taxis for us without hesitation. It's a gorgeous property with unique styling and a only a short stroll into the heart of the beautiful Citta Alta town. Breakfast was delicious and served in a lovely courtyard. I spent 24 hours in Bergamo as a last minute itinerary change before a week of work in Milan and was so pleased to have chosen this destination!
