We loved Monopoli Old Town and Port area unfortunately when we visited the beach area it was under going construction work but once this is finished the area will be stunning. Beautiful old town, with a huge number of restaurants and bars. Food was excellent throughout. Staff everywhere were exceptionally friendly and went out of their way to help. We visited in September and it was very busy - We can only imagine it is too crowded and too hot in peak summer months. Be aware that beaches are small, but there are a number of them, within walking distance, or by taxi to larger beach clubs. The old town is really beautiful, with tiny streets, squares and alleyways. Monopoli was a perfect base for us to see Puglia. Loved getting lost in the maze of narrow streets in the Old Town. Recommended Calette Torre Cintola to a couple staying at our hotel and they loved it as well. The old town is super cute! some great artisan stores and even a great vintage clothing store! The dining scene is excellent and ranges from rustic homey feel to more upmarket but all very affordable! Great wines flow from all bars and restaurants. Monopoli is a really great vibrant little seaside town and makes an excellent base to explore Puglia. Only downside for summer 2025 at least is that the city beach is closed 😔 you can access the sea over rocks, or drive/take the train to areas with actual beaches.Guest review byJaneUnited Kingdom

The bed was spacious and comfortable and we loved relaxing on the roof terrace. Best of all, Claudia the owner was super friendly and easy to contact. Having both a bath and a separate shower was very nice.
