Great staff, very helpful. They responded very quickly to all our enquires. Very silent location, yet a 15€ (Sunday night surcharges applied) taxi ride away from the busy center. The room was very well kept and clean, modern and with all the necessary amenities. Very comfortable bed and great shower. Will definitely stay there again when in Naples.

The receptionist on the day of my arrival was extremely helpful. I hurt my knee because I fell on the way to the hotel and she immediately got me some iodine and band-aids. She also offered me tea and something to eat, such great hospitality! Unfortunately, I didn't ask her for her name, because I was in a bit of shock, but thank you so much!!

Vibrancy, Vespas, Vesuvius

Undulating beside the Bay of Naples, this UNESCO World Heritage city is a maze of narrow streets and funicular railways. Although it has an incredible array of churches and monuments, it’s the sheer energy, pulsating life, and buzz of Vespas that really make it exciting.

At first you could mistake this for chaos, but given time you’ll see there’s method to the madness. The stunning, curved portico of the Royal Palace. The perfectly thin pizzas which originated here. The red pepper trinkets to ward off the evil eye adorning practically every old town doorway. All are crafted to perfection.

While all this goes on at street level, below is Underground Naples – a series of visitable tunnels and even a Graeco-Roman theatre which you stop at before emerging into someone’s house!

Head up to the Posillipo area for stunning views of the city and Vesuvius in the distance. The volcano itself can be visited and looking down from it towards Pompeii and Herculaneum gives context to the thousands of artefacts now on display in the city’s National Archaeological Museum.

    Naples is a large city with a lot of car and scooter traffic. Getting around the city may be overwhelming at first but once you learn how to travel on the Metro train system it gets much easier. The trains & stations are clean & safe & signage is clearly posted. The restaurants in Naples are excellent and are very good value. The pizza is AMAZING! Naples is also a great place to stay if you want to visit Pompeii, The Amalfi Coast, Sorrento for day trips. There are trains and buses to these locations and the cost is very reasonable.

    Naples is a city that's now on the tourist map.

    Naples is a city that's now on the tourist map. That's not a bad thing per se. It means that areas that might have been down-at-heel a decade ago are now vibrant. Napoli is a city that's been around forever, and there's lots to explore - in the city and surrounding areas. It also has the highest population density of any Italian city (more than double that of Rome!), meaning that the sidewalks and streets are busy and noisy. Don't be put off by it. Embrace the "orderly chaos" and be amazed at this cliff-side city!

    One of the most uninteresting and boring cities I've ever been. If it wasn't for Pompeii or Herculaneum, there is no reason at all to visit the city. Italy offers amazing choices for cities which are small gems, so go there only in case you need to visit the (extremely interesting) surroundings.

    Naples is a vibrant city rich in history and culture with lots to discover. Its historic center is full of narrow streets lined with artisan shops and markets. Naples is also known for its authentic pizza and street food. The city has a lively, sometimes gritty feel, blending beautiful old buildings with busy, energetic streets. Wearing comfortable shoes and having an open mind is the best way to enjoy all it has to offer. It’s a perfect destination for those interested in history and great food.

    Use the hop on hop off bus - to get your bearings. Investigate the train system to understand the different lines. The venikula was a great way to get down or up the hill where we stayed. Visit Sorrento, Positano, or Amalfi - recommend ferry to Sorrento as opposed to train.

    Naples was so much fun!

    Naples was so much fun! We loved exploring the historic center, especially on Spaccanapoli and Via dei Tribunali - so many restaurants and bars along there. It was a very walkable city for us, easy to get around We did a pizza making course which was lots of fun!
