This is an amazing property...beautifully and tastefully furnished, spacious rooms, fantastically equipped kitchen, pool area is absolutely gorgeous. The surrounding area is just lovely..Lama has a couple of great bars, restaurants and a small supermarket. Alberobello is not too far away also the fabulous beaches of Porto Pirrone. We loved every minute of our stay here, Joseph is an incredible host who has thought of everything to make his guests comfortable. If you are lucky enough to get a booking here, take it! It's probably the best accommodation we have ever stayed in!

We truly enjoyed our stay in this beautiful boutique hotel. It is very centrally located, rooms are tastefully decorated and service is simply excellent. We arrived at night and even despite closed kitchen were able to order something for dinner (most delicious and fresh sea food salad you could imagine!), mini bar is icluded in the price, breakfast was a mix of both buffet and a la carte and employees are very friendly and always smiling!

This very charming hotel is located almost in the main Commercial district of majestic Taranto, very close to the most interesting touristic attractions: museums, t theaters, shopping malls, parks, Cathedrals, local cafes & restaurants and the public beach attractions, plus, it is located pretty near to the Historical Center. Very clean comfortable rooms with an ensuite bathroom, furniture, TV, Wi-Fi. Cleaning was done every day. The breakfast was delicious and nicely served. Super professional & friendly hospitality with was provided by very nice people working there! Highly recommended! Great value for money!

Fantastic Archaeological museum with fabulous ceramics, some of the best from earliest civilisations, well displayed with good lighting and English translations for general info and for each item. Worth going to Taranto just for that. Castle and very small island old city with very narrow laneways and good restaurants and the cathedral which is beautiful. Local buses work well and many from train station which is good as taxis not there at all.

A delightful small city with an undeveloped historic centre on an island. Good train connections to Bari and Lecce, less so to Naples. Convenient for excursions to Matera, Alberobello (trulli houses) and the southern Puglian countryside. Taranto cathedral full of pietra dura and, in the crypt, medieval frescos. Interesting Archaeological Museum with Greek and Roman finds, especially Greek black and orange vases and Roman mosaics.

The new section along the canal with bridge opposite the castle was postcard perfect .Something like this you will not find in many cities around the world.The old Città Vecchia was absolutely beautiful,the food was too die for.We were blown away by Taranto old culture v the new century. I commend the commune with the ongoing restoration of old culture buildings.They are improving a city that has everything. Food sculpture people.10/10.

I wouldn't rush back to Taranto.

I wouldn't rush back to Taranto. The modern town is very built up and feels a bit poor/run-down -- imagine a slightly more upmarket Naples. The old town is very dilapidated once you head away from the castle. Parts are totally derelict with more stray cats that human inhabitants. We chose Taranto as a base to explore Alberobello, Locorotondo and Matera, but would have been better staying somewhere more central.

The old town was really nice, great shops, we wanted to go...

The old town was really nice, great shops, we wanted to go to De castello(castle) but weren't able as the only had Italian guide and wasn't allowed to walk around ourselves, even though the tourist information Centre said the times on a sheet in English. Disappointed

A very nice appartment in the center, very close to shops, restaurants,etc. Very clean even in the details (first time saw in a hotel the curtains smelling fragrancy). But the most important was the owner. This man is the kindest I have ever met! Before reaching Taranto, had sent me information where to walk, to eat and shop! And when we reavhed there he had kept a parking space for us with his car and waited to help us with our luggage. Man, you are special, thanks for everything!!!!!

The hotel is spotless and ideally located in the old town. It has beautiful architecture with old history and charm. We were greeted warmly by friederica who was like our own personal tour guide.she was was very knowledgeable about the local history and shared some lovely sites to visit. We will certainly be back.
