Vernazza was right in the middle of the five cities...
Vernazza was right in the middle of the five cities...perfect for hiking a trail and taking the train back to home base. I loved the little harbor and narrow winding streets. We loved the Pirates breakfast place behind the church and would highly recommend it. I also personally loved the anbiance at the little coffee shop just above the train station. One of the more beautiful of the five. Lots of steps to hotels in general so pack light...small carry on and back pack or foldie bag. Less is more. Great access to trails to Monterosso and Corniglia. I stayed 2 days/3 nights in Vernazza.
I stayed 2 days/3 nights in Vernazza. I hiked the trails and visited the other villages and Vernazza was my favourite (2nd Manarola). The sunset was beautiful. Thankfully not too many stairs to get to my room. The trains were easy to use and quite frequent. There were excellent views from the trails. Vernazza is charming and lovely with it's colored structures...
Vernazza is charming and lovely with it's colored structures and ocean smashing against the rocks of this tiny port village. We went at the end of September, and it was still a bit crowded with tourists and sourvenir shops and restaurants along the walking strip. If you've never seen anything like this, you'll probably enjoy it. We, personally, found it not as impressive as Burano in Venice, which has MANY mult-colored homes and lovely walking areas along the water with canals that were much less touristy and truly more charming!! Thus, we don't need to return to Vernazza for the effort that it took to drive here.Guest review byCynthiaUnited States
