The facilities had been beautifully refurbished. Check-in and check-out were efficient. The selection of complimentary drinks was excellent. The public bath was excellent. ( Refa hairdryer was good) The bed was very comfortable.

The staff were so friendly, they hotel was so close to the Kakusenkei Gorge, with easy walking distance and you are so close you can hear the stream running. The food was amazing, authentic and fresh, would 100 percent recommend a stay here. It's my favourite place in Japan.

The best place we stayed during our trip ! Such a lovely family that made everything to make us feel welcome ! The house has an amazing traditional charm and we slept in the best futon beds we tried in japan ! The house is very clean and has everything you need, they even created panels in different languages. I recommend this place 1000% ! Thanks again for everything <3

Nanta-dera is only a 15 minute drive away which was beautiful with the autumn leaves. The walk along the river in Yamanaka is stunning all year round. Yamanake is famous for wood turning so there is plenty of crafts to see. Nearby and also huge ancient cedar trees and it is an area of plentiful hot springs.

The onsen was totally Japanese in style and attention to detail, very relaxing and with a staff dedicated to providing the best service. They were attentive and helpful. The forest near the onsen was beautiful for hiking and contemplating nature. Loved it. I will definitely return and to the same onsen.

Beautiful hotel. Located about 10min walk from the central square with the public bath houses. I loved getting to stay in the Japanese style apartment. The snacks and green tea in the lounge area was very nice. The onsen is smaller and has fewer skin products than their sister hotel, Rurikoh, but still very nice and clean. I had a facial, foot massage, and back massage and loved all of them. The staff were all excellent, and very helpful. I highly recommend getting the buffet breakfast, it was delicious.

Great public onsen, and a wonderful private bath in our room. I personally loved that the hotel was frequented almost exclusively by Japanese families and couples and not overrun by foreign tourists (except for myself and my partner - ironic, I know) - it made the stay feel like an authentic, contemporary Japanese experience. The room with retro Nintendo games was a very pleasant surprise.

We chose this luxury traditional hotel to end our two-week trip in Japan. We were not disappointed. Our room included half board. The room itself is spacious with an outdoor Onsen facing the greens. We were treated like the kings the moment we arrived. The diner and breakfast were delicious and gastronomic. We enjoyed it so much!
