It was our first onsen hotel experience as an American family so we don’t have much to compare to. But we enjoyed the half board buffet breakfast and dinner. Even my kids, 4&6, ate lots. There was a good variety of food. They also liked wearing their robes/yukatas to the buffet. The onsen had two baths, including one outdoor that overlooked Oronko Rock. The location was convenient. Even though our cruise was canceled due to weather, it would’ve only been a few minutes walk to the loading area. The staff were very friendly and spoke some English.

Very pretty on the outside, very pretty on the inside! Comfortable, cozy interior spaces, whether its the common area, a bunk or your very own studio. Everything was immaculate and the breakfast was delicious and filling.

The public/sharing shower room is very comfortable to bath. Well isolated and not feeling cold and shivering during shower. Very quiet sleeping enviroment.

A good option as a gateway to start the Shiretoko park experience. We stayed one night on the way to the park in a twin room. The room was specious and very clean. With a big window facing the garden. On the same floor there are also dorm sleep boxes with shared bathroom and kitchen. All in all we liked the place and wanted to extend the stay but it was fully booked.

The place was about 15 min drive from the main road by the coast, which was convenient for us who traveled by car. The hosts were nice and helpful. The place was quiet. The room interior was updated (newer than expected from looking by the photo) and clean with a traditional/japan vibe. I also love how we explored new hidden treasures nearby.

There was one particular staff member who was so helpful, he showed us how to use the microwave and was just really kind. The view of this place is phenomenal, I know there were some fancier hotels at sea level and I think those really miss out on these gorgeous views. We watched sea eagles flying in and it was a delight. The onsen was wonderful and quiet. We had tatami beds and western beds. The common areas had beautiful views as well, cool hand painted murals, and interesting books. This place was just delightful with great views.
