Great value! Great buffet breakfast with lots of healthy options. Rice (one day mushroom), noodles (stir-fried w a few veggies), miso soup that you can add dehydrated seaweed and tofu to that grows astronomically!, little sides of seaweed and veggies, egg, fresh salad, croissants, jam, yogurt with fruit, etc. And this special Kale w optional Milk drink. I didn't love it but my husband drank it. You gotta love a commitment to offering kale drink. They had a pillow bar with every type of pillow you could want. We stuck with the ones that came standard. Great little amenities bar with comb/brush, toothbrushes (soft, medium, and hard - though you should always use soft!), body scrubbing towel, Q-tips, face cleanser, etc. Small rooms just fit all that you need: bed, desk, chair, bathroom, TV, suitcase rack, shoe polisher, flashlight, good lighting, shower gel/shampoo/conditioner, etc. You could really show up here with nothing and be fine.

The location is the best. It's next to the train station and Toyota rent a car. It's sourrounded by the department store and convenience store, restaurant, and drugstore. I highly recommend this hotel.

Very comfortable hotel with a big modern rooms. Everything in the room is brand-new: furniture, bathroom etc. Very good towels and toiletries. The breakfast is also good: we tried all 3 breakfast options during our stay. Lounge has a zone for work with the laptops, free coffee machine and drink-bar.

Great budget hotel, very comfortable room - a bit larger than in many Japanese hotels. Easy access from the station, but if you have heavy bags, I’d take taxi (I did). Breakfast is truly delicious, a lot of local food Shizuoka is famous for - small sweet white fish, green tea pudding, seasonal oden, everything is locally grown or caught. Free shiatsu massage chairs, public bath and many tasty options to eat around. Will be back!

Shizuoka is a hidden gem.

Shizuoka is a hidden gem. You can stay here and get to many sightseeing destinations by rail (day trips) and come back to the relaxation of more laidback location. Locals are very pleasant and friendly, not so jaded by the over tourism of Kyoto and Osaka. We speak very limited Japanese, but were welcomed and managed in small local restaurants and Izakayas.

Shizuoka's shinkanesen train station is packed full of interesting shops and restaurants. We absolutely loved browsing as we waited for our train. Our visit in Shizuoka was much too short. I would have like to walk through the park (Sumpu) Walk through the city and explore more of the department stores. We got to see a local tea farm but it would have been great to visit more. We tried Sushiro which was really fun and delicious and better than most of the sushi restaurants in Montreal.

For those whose hobby is into plastic modelling, the city of Shizuoka is considered the model city of Japan. There is the annual Shizuoka hobby show that is held in the second week of May and is one of the biggest model show exhibitions in the world so hobbyist will not be disappointment.

We hated it. We felt unsafe, boxed in.

We hated it. We felt unsafe, boxed in. My friend is fluent in Japanese but even she was having trouble making the staff understand even small things. It’s a love hotel. Very disturbing. Sextoy magasine, prostitute magasine, locked doors that only open when you call and ask the staff to open the doors. Staff that didn’t understand. Making me pay for two rooms when giving us just one room.

Shizuoka city has the pleasant atmosphere of a sizable city with a country feel. I love Shizuoka and of course, that big mountain is always visible in the near vicinity when it's not hanging with its cloudy mates.

From a touristic perspective Shizuoka was just perfect for travelers who look for a more relaxing location. It was not full of tourists like you would expect seeing in Tokyo. But this also means that not everything is written or explained in english. Shizuoka is a perfect stay location when you want to visit locations like Nagoya, Hamamatsu, Mishima or similiar (so places you would usually pass with a shinkansen from Tokyo to Kyoto)

It is a new hotel, about 10 minutes of easy walk from the Shizuoka station. Everything was nice and clean, the room was spacious with a gorgeous view of the mountains. The buffet style breakfast was delicious, most of the main food was changing every day, so I never got bored of it during my 5-day stay. The beds were super comfy with plenty of pillows and the spa was great to unwind after a long day on foot. All in all it exceeded my expectations and I'd be happy to come back.

Retro hotel that is close to the city centre. The staff was friendly and helpful. The check in and check out system is via tablet, there is English language. The room was quite wide, clean and bright. The showers are on the second floor, which has everything you need. You can lock your bathroom stall, so don't worry about safety. Overall, I was happy with the stay and would recommend it for a holiday when travelling in Shizuoka!

Love the big window! Enjoying the sea, city and mountain view of Shizuoka city. And you can see Mount Fuji in nice weather!. Natural lighting from the window, spacious and classic design of the room, I feel really comfortable during my stay. Convenient location. 5 min walk to JR station, subway and shopping malls. Park lots available just under the same building.

The property was clean, comfortable and in a good location being near the high street and station in Shizuoka. Not only were staff friendly and helpful but so were the residents at the hotel when we stayed. Also, I was able to see Mt Fuji from my room which was amazing!!
