We absolutely loved our stay here! Staff were amazing, and we felt welcome from the moment we arrived. Our room was beautifully appointed and comfortable with a private onsen. Dinner and breakfast were delicious and we hope to return again soon.

They offered us a small kitchen and free tea. The common area gave us the opportunity to meet other people. Room was spacious and well heated. Even though the hosts didn’t speak English, they showed us lots of hospitality.

We stayed in Takachiho after a morning in Mt Aso. The property is easy to find and the host was fabulous in providing information prior to our arrival. The self contained unit was very clean and having some space after some small hotel rooms was lovely! The shower was great with plenty of hot water. There is parking close by. The beds are futons and as there were only 2 of us in a 4 bed accommodation, I was able to layer 2 futons for some extra comfort! Just be mindful if you’re tall as the door frames are low. If you’re taller than about 5’10”, you might need to duck!

Place was very HUGE and the entire place was ours which was very fun and amazing. Lots of oarking lots nearby and the owner was very nice :) It felt like we got our own house in the town!

The house was big , clean, and comfortable. Before we entered the house, the host warmed up the house before we arrived. 2 shower, 1 bath room & 2 toilets was perfect for 8 persons, not easy to find when you have a big group. A place to hang your laundry. Many entering decorations.

The ryokan was located perfectly opposite to the bus station. The building was charming and the room spacious and clean. The staff was very friendly and helpful.

The guesthouse is absolutely beautiful. It’s in a more remote location, so it’s very peaceful. The couple running たね are so very kind, and their cooking is exceptional. Breakfast was so delicious. We wish we spoke better Japanese so we could have talked more. They were such interesting people.

Accomodation was a beautiful log cabin in the Miyazaki countryside! The facilities were clean and modern, and the bed was so comfortable!! There were so many thoughtful touches, like having spare pairs of crocs outside the cabin, having salt and cooking oil in the kitchen, having tea and coffee sachets. You can also park directly in front of your cabin which is very convenient. We reserved the course dinner offered by the host and it was delicious!! The host was also the chef (and the bartender) and we had a great time chatting to him in English and Japanese about the locally sourced ingredients and his very well-stocked bar. Thanks for such a lovely night Keita!! Next time we will need to stay even longer, so we can use the fireplace and enjoy more of the peaceful countryside. We had a wonderful stay, highly recommend El Campo.
