We were so lucky to be the first people stay at the beautiful mango garden villa! It was such an amazing place to stay as a group of friends but would be perfect for a family too. The owners were so lovely, generous and welcoming throughout our entire stay. The room is very clean, has a modern bathroom and the beds were so comfy (With a fan and AC!). Really good location for walking into habarana or a short tiki tik ride into Sigiriya. The balcony is a beautiful space to relax, watch the squirrels in the trees and admire the handy work of Dammika. The family helped us get around the local areas and cooked a beautiful breakfast and even a 5 curry dinner! (Which was soooo yummy❤️). If you are looking for a place to relax and feel at home after a busy day exploring and walking I would definitely recommend this villa and I hope I can come back myself!

Woodland Sanctuary exceeded all our expectations. The wooden room was cozy and stylish, with a warm, natural vibe. The stones-finished bathroom was unique and truly memorable. Dudley and Maleesha were outstanding hosts, making sure every detail of our stay was perfect. Breakfast by the garden was a treat, with traditional flavors and a serene view. The pool was pristine and perfect for relaxing after exploring. The peaceful atmosphere and views of the surrounding jungle made this place unforgettable.

Our host Aruna was fantastic; very welcoming, kind and friendly. The breakfast was lovely and full of traditional food and fresh fruit. The room was perfect and had everything we needed, including the balcony and outdoor jacuzzi pool. We loved the location and surrounding forest and the hotel is a great base to explore Sigiriya and other highlights. Hearing the monkeys on our treehouse roof and seeing lots of wildlife was an added bonus! Would thoroughly recommend!

We had an amazing stay at the Sundown Lake Hotel! The owners were very supportive, kind and just lovely people. The view from every cabin down to the lake is great and the very clean pool area makes it even easier to enjoy the stay. The breakfast is very nice - you‘ll get some traditional Sri Lankan breakfast dishes too. We also had dinner every night and it was some of the best food we had on our whole trip in Sri Lanka. We really enjoyed our stay and were sad to leave this beautiful place! Thank you to Sasini, Anjana and Mahinda for everything!

I had a great stay here right on the edge of the National Park. The room was large and exceptionally clean and my lovely host gave me a in depth tour of the grounds explaining the uses and medicinal properties of all the plants there. The staff also made me meals with produce from the garden and catered for my Western tastes with well prepared meals. On learning of a problem with my foot I also received a massage using the products of the garden. I can’t recommend this place highly enough Greg The professor

It was a great experience at Sky forest. Loved everything about the stay. It's amazing how the architecture of the cabanas and tree house blends with nature seamlessly. The caretaker is friendly and professional. Attentive to our needs immediately. Rooms are clean and comfortable. Clean and spacious washroom. The food was great. Great location in the middle of a really timy village, completely surrounded by nature. The nicest host family, who made everything to make our stay comfortable. We had wonderful dinner and breakfast. Really calm and beautiful place. Beautiful clean room with hot water. We really recommend renting a bike and biking to the Ritigala mountain.

    Good location to visit the National parks where Elephants roam. Take a short drive to Ritigala and be amazed at the heritage site of a millenia old large forest monastery. Dine at the Ran Rasa restaurant for one of the best Chicken Koththus you will taste..

    Beautiful jungle surrounds. Lots of activities. Safari doesn't tell you about all the extra costs involved. Entry fee big. Tip for animal spotter. The Harabana lake cruise is brilliant. No motor just a gentle paddle, allowing you get up close to wildlife

    There are loads to do in Habarana.

    There are loads to do in Habarana. Nice places to eat and drink. One unexpected pleasure was the village safari. You go for a ride on a old tractor, then a lovely boat ride across the lake. You are then shown the old traditional way of preparing and make food. Also shown other local crafts.

    We went to this area and stayed at the Cinnamon Habarana...

    We went to this area and stayed at the Cinnamon Habarana Village for 2 noghts. This gave us time to visit Pidirangula the rock opposite Sigiyeria Rock, Polonuwara ruins, Minneriya Safari parks and a couple of village tours to see how locaal live and eat. These village tours I would recommend as you get to try local curries made by the villagers which are authentic. Pidurangula is the same height as Lions Rock but a quarter of the price. The only thing you miss out on is seeing the ruins at the top of the ancient civilisation. Minneriya was fantastic. We did this as a last minute decision as we were advised there were more elephants here than in the Yala Safari park which we had already booked to visit in the south. We were so glad we did this as there were plenty of elephants to see and capture on camera. The ruins around this area are a plenty and definitely worth visiting as they are centuries old and date back to when Buddha came into the country. When visiting any ruins or temples men musat wear a sarong to cover their knees and women have to cover their shoulders and knees. Wearing t shirts and 3/4 linen trousers are ideal. We had a private tour guide with his car that we hired for an 8 day tour so he knew where to go, and came with us at each attraction. Would recommend touring Sri Lanka in this manner and using Madhu of Nesi Tours Srilanka. He is able to help with itineraries and pricing. We had a fabulous trip in this beautiful country with

    Super nice hotel and very friendly hosts. We felt welcome from the first second. The tree houses and the area around are beautiful, there is a nice pool and a lot of things to do in Habarana. The hosts helped us with every activities, sightseeing or finding drivers. Although the prices are higher than the Sri Lankan level, you get full service and experience so that the price is legitimate for everything! We would recommend everybody to go there and enjoy the time in the nature!

    The resort is a wonderful place, located near Habarana. It was our first stop after arriving at Colombo airport. The host and his lovely family did everything they could to make our stay comfortable. The traditional Sri Lankan breakfast and dinner was excellent and freshly cooked by the host’s wife. It is a lovely hideaway with lovely hosts. A perfect place to calm down or to start your journey on the island, plan a safari or hike to Sigirya or Pidarangula rock.

    Swan lake is a beautiful little hotel perfectly located in habarana. The service was excellent. The owner went out of his way to provide us with everything we need and more. The rooms were extremely clean, modern and comfortable. Such a high standard for the price you pay. The breakfast was very tasty as well!

    Dudley's Nature Resort is a fantastic base for exploring the area. The pool is amazing, and the location is great. We particularly enjoyed Dudley's Sri Lankan curry buffet – the best we've had so far. The resort is surrounded by a lush garden filled with wildlife, making it a truly magical place to stay.

    I am in America. I only came to Habarana for one day, but because I got to stay in Habarana, I stayed in Habarana for two days. The best place I have stayed in Sri Lanka. Very free. Very honest. Best place to stay for a very friendly and fun family. I felt like I was in a castle. 🫶🏻
