The staff at Hotel River Front is 100% the reason you should stay here! They arranged our transport from Mirissa, and to Ella. Booked our safari and sent us with a packed breakfast. We ate dinner at the restaurant at the hotel and it was so good and affordable too! Their safari driver was great, we saw 2 bears and 2 leopards along with elephants and everything else we'd hoped to see. This is a perfect place to stay to safari in Yala.

We had such a beautiful stay at My Resort Yala. From the moment we arrived we felt welcome and cared for - the staff really want to make sure you have a comfortable and enjoyable stay. This is evident in the facilities - air con, good fans, filtered water in the room, mosquito nets (even though there weren’t many mosquitos), a fridge, a hair dryer, adapters to suit every country’s appliances. My favourite - bicycles. This allowed us to ride around town - a thoroughly enjoyable way to see the place. We did an afternoon safari and managed to see a sloth bear! Along with so many other animals - many elephants, crocodiles, deer, bird species, mongoose, jackals, goannas (probably forgetting a lot here). The leopard eluded us. My husband and I have been on safari in Africa so we thought maybe we’d be underwhelmed - but it was awesome. The pool was great for my kids. The temperature was just right. Breakfast was tasty and very generous, and the place has such a peaceful outlook over the rice fields. All of this for such good value. Thank you to all the staff for making this such a lovely stay.

Gayan was a fantastic host and he does so much for his guests, e.g. getting you to places close to his location and pick up again, a short evening lake tour, organize different things upon requests of guests, etc. all without additional costs. Highly recommended!

We had an unforgettable experience! The hosts were incredibly kind and friendly, truly deserving of a 10+. The room was spotless and the bed was super comfortable, ensuring a restful stay. The dinner that was included was absolutely delicious, and we savored every bite. We felt like we were in paradise during our stay, surrounded by beauty and tranquility. The best part of this property apart from its beautiful location is the wonderful manager Mr.Danushka. He literally does all the work here and is absolutely efficient and so hospitable. We would totally go back to stay here with family, because we know he’d take care of every single thing.

The owner gave us free cake, free lunch and a free tour around the lake to show us he’s culture and village. After travelling around many countries in Asia, this was the most kind and generous host we have ever encountered. We are very gratefull for this experience and hospitality!

The host family were both very welcoming from start to finish. The owner took us around the lake at sunset to view the bird and wildlife and even picked up some buffalo curd for us to try. Food was exceptional and hospitality first class and very genuine
