I had a wonderful stay at this private luxury cottage near Galle. Surrounded by nature, it’s the perfect place to relax and unwind. The cottage was exceptionally clean, with comfortable linens and all the necessary amenities, including tea, coffee, hot water, and toiletries—all provided free of charge. The complimentary WiFi covered the entire cottage, ensuring a seamless connection. One of the highlights of my stay was the delicious Sri Lankan breakfast, served in a peaceful setting with the soothing sounds of birds and stunning nature views. The location is ideal, close to popular tourist attractions such as waterfalls and monasteries. Additionally, the nearby village offers unique experiences like cinnamon peeling, hiking, and birdwatching. The property is beautiful. Everything is very tastefully decorated. The furnishings are perfect. The garden pool is really cool and with nature sounds it felt so nature friendly! Our second visit to Niyagama house and it was just as perfect as the first time. Elke and her team provide a brilliant service, we were so well looked after with a lovely room, great food, brilliant yoga classes and big pool. Gorgeous setting and possible to walk a 5k circuit from house which we did every day. It’s 15 mins from Galle fort in a car.

Everything exceeded our expectations. The villa is in the middle of the green with a beautiful garden facing a luxuriant rice paddy field. The rooms are massive, super clean with all the needed confort. The location is just perfect with only a few minutes tuktuk to the surrounding beaches and Galle Fort. We loved the breakfast and the company of Chaminda which is always there to help you, organise transport and give tips on where to go and what to do. We highly recommend the Villa Peacock. You will love it!!!!

The host Buddhika is a very gracious host, we were able to see his tea fields and were welcomed in his house, he even made us homemade drinks and talked about the different kinds of plants in his garden. The pick up service was excellent and he helped us to get on the right bus. The two cottages are very beautiful, equipped with everything you need (best ac so far in Sri Lanka) and have a very peaceful view of the lake, in a short walking distance is a spot to swim. It’s near the street, which you can sometimes hear. Buddhika prepared very delicious dinners for us and provided everything we needed and more whilst being respectful of our privacy. We took a trip to sinharaja national park (1h by car and then 3-4hours in the park with a guide) for a very reasonable price and again Buddhikas service was exceptional! On the way to matara we wanted to buy some tea and he took us to his family’s factory and we got a free tour and an interesting tasting. All in all we had a great stay and a very peaceful and calming experience!
