Hey traveler, if you’ve been looking for the perfect place — stop right here, you’ve just found it. Imagine this rare gem: a secluded mountain cottage that’s actually accessible even without a car. Just a 30-minute train ride from Podgorica to Virpazar, followed by a 15–20 minute walk — and you’re there. You can easily walk to Virpazar for restaurants, and if you need something urgently, there’s a gas station with a mini-market just minutes away. But the real magic begins once you arrive. Total silence. No traffic, no tourists — just nature and you. Birds singing, swallows flying overhead, turtles strolling through the grass, dragonflies buzzing, and mountain air so fresh it makes your head spin in the best way. The cottage itself is a dream. Everything is thoughtfully curated and made with care — nothing “just for show,” but rather warm, cozy, and full of charm. Beautiful dishes, lovely decor, and even multi-point lighting that’s been designed to the smallest detail. It’s an eco-friendly house with stylish wooden furniture made from real logs — think “modern forest cottage” rather than “old ranger’s hut.” Traveling with a dog, like I was? There’s a dog bed and bowls. Coming with a baby? There’s a crib and a baby bath. Every need has been anticipated. Outside, there’s a private terrace, a barbecue area, and an unforgettable view. To welcome us, a bottle of homemade rakija and cold beers waited in the fridge. Later, the host Ivan brought us his own homemade wine — and it was amazing! Ivan was always available, checking in to make sure we were comfortable. He also offers boat rides, kayaking on Lake Skadar, and can organize breakfast if you’d like. This is a place where time slows down, where local hospitality shines, and where you don’t have to sacrifice a single bit of comfort. Trust me — you won’t find anything like this, at this price, anywhere else in Montenegro… or maybe even in all of Europe.

I felt like I am a movie star in an old italian film :) Fabulous little hotel at the central town square! I loved arhitecture of the hotel and old style bilinds on the windows - "škure"! Marko was a great host. He recomended boat excursion which was fantastic! He has helped a lot on my way to Virpazar suggesting best directions. Ladies working at the reception and in a restaurant were very nice and polite. They have recomened little antique exibition at the attic of the hotel. My best recommendations for Pelikan hotel!

Everything was fantastic. It was an authentic experience of Balkan hospitality. We felt like we were part of the family :) The food was exceptionally delicious. The cozy room was clean and comfortable for two. Moreover, we enjoyed two consecutive days of boating and were captivated by the beauty of Lake Skadar; it was truly breathtaking! Wonderfull place in the rustic environment. Exceptionally clean, spacious and equipped, with all the amenities one would wanted. Its excellent value for money, with pristine location and amasing silence - offering fantastic rest opportunities. Host was very helpfull and approachable, adding to the overall experience. This accommodation is fantastic. Bato is a very kind and attentive host. He speaks English fluently and makes sure everything is just right. Besides the clean and spacious rooms, there’s also a culinary highlight. Bato makes his own wine, and it’s delicious. He prepares breakfast and dinner using vegetables from his own organic garden and fish he catches in the lake that morning. He was also willing to take me on a birdwatching tour by his own boat on Lake Skadar early in the morning to spot pelicans, and we succeeded. Highly recommended — I’ll definitely come back!

Really friendly and helpful hosts, that can give lots of information and recommendations about the area. Kitchen is shared with the other available room, but is well equipped and clean. Room is very nice, especially the balcony. Would very much recommend staying here!
