From the start everything was super, communication with people before we traveled, they organised transfer for us, greeted us with nice refreshing drinks and gave us all useful information. We had room on the ground floor that looked at the bikini beach and sea. On the white sandy beach we had beach beds and table and chairs. Now about the sea (well ocean)…crystal clear water and part where you can swim and house reef where you can snorkel and see amazing colourful fish. Staff was amazing (I am terrible with names), but every single member of staff was friendly and polite, from our waiter, Sri Lankan chef, hotel manager…everyone. They organised trips for us. Out of many different trips we chose 3. We had Dolphin Safari where we saw 100’s of dolphins and took amazing photos and videos. Then we had snorkelling trip to see turtles and again we took some great pics and videos. Our guide even took my GoPro and filmed us swimming with turtles. Unforgettable experience! We also had Night Fishing trip, where we caught many fishes, like tuna, barracuda, red snapper etc. Then they prepared most amazing beach dinner with our catch. In the restaurant you have a choice between continental breakfast and local one (many times we had both of them). Also you can eat pancakes with various toppings and there was always cold juice and water. For dinner you have different choices, like various soups to start with, then various curries, rice and noodle dishes, fish, various ways of chicken, pizzas, burgers…and desert at the end. We were very happy with food. I can highly recommend Belmars Beach and will definitely come back at some point, as we had a brilliant time there.

There was a very friendly atmosphere and a helpful owner and his partner, who took care of every detail of my stay. The owner, Xaa, helped me completely by chance to visit the nearby Gangehi Resort, for which I am extremely grateful — it was a unique opportunity, as before I had only seen such places on YouTube or in other people’s stories. Additionally, I didn’t have to pay for the stay at the resort, which was a very kind gesture on his part. On site, Zidane took great care of the guest house where I stayed — it was always clean, regularly serviced, and he also helped me with a very important matter, for which not only I am grateful :)))))))))

Room was clean and cleaned every day, few steps from beautiful bikini beach. Stuff were so friendly and awailable in each time of the day, especially Suru, she helped us with everything. There are no words to describe this incredible experience at Mathiveri, a small island with simple but very kind and hospitable inhabitants. It has magnificent beaches with free sun loungers and swings, an easily accessible sand island, and a soothing sense of tranquility. Staying at Velana Vibes made us feel at home. Munzir, the owner, was always available to meet any request or need. We could use the kitchen, fully equipped for preparing our meals, the lounge area for working or enjoying conversations with friends, the machine ready for free coffee and tea at any time, and safe drinking water was always available. We are certain that Velana Vibes is the most well-maintained accomodation on the island -new and aesthetically the most beautiful, with very spacious rooms with large bathrooms and all the necessary comforts. Munzir also runs a minimarket, and his stepmother owns a souvenirs shop, ensuring that guests have access to everything they might need. He personally arranged our speedboat transfer from and to Malé, picked us up at the port, and took us back with luggage transportation included. On the first day, he even organized a mini-kart tour of the island, as a courtesy from him, so we could get to know it better. Munzir is supported by Imma, the talented chef who prepared our breakfasts and meals on deserted islands (even for special dietary needs), as well as an excellent organizer and tour guide for customized and private excursions. What really made this experience truly magical was feeling among friends, having evening conversations with Imma and Munzir, who gave us advice, clarified doubts, and helped us understand the local customs, culture, and history. They shared jokes with us and even taught us a few words in their language. On the morning of our departure, we received a wonderful surprise: a delicious chocolate cake with 'We will miss you" written on it. It left us speechless. Baraabaru!

Bodufolhudhoo is a small island, about 90 minutes away from...

Bodufolhudhoo is a small island, about 90 minutes away from Male by speed boat. It’s easy to walk around as it is not very big. There’s are quite few shops to buy snacks, drinks (no alcohol) and souvenirs. There are few restaurants on the island, but we didn’t get to eat there as we had amazing food at Belmars Beach hotel.

The island itself is quiet and small (300 m in diameter, you can go round with paddleboard in 30 minutes, if you stay outer side of the reef), has small number of restaurants and cafes, 2 shops. Go to the port in the evening to see how locals are fishing! People in the island are friendly, it is safe. There is also medical center couple steps from Paguro hotel. The island has new footbal and volleyball playgrounds with artificial grass, they are public. One net is also on the beach.

It has a very nice reef with lots of opportunities for snorkelling and diving in the vicinity. The place is a couple of hours of speed boat ride from the airport. One must plan the flights as the day is lost if arrivals / departures are between 11 am & 4pm

This island has the best house reef (even better than private resort island) and it’s in pristine condition. It has a lovely relaxed vibe. The service in cafes is amazing. Streets are kept so clean and tidy as the locals make the effort of keeping their island beautiful. Bikini beach is private and exclusive and not crowded.

I have never been to Maldives so I do not have any other...

I have never been to Maldives so I do not have any other island to compare with Bodufolhudhoo. From my experience though, I can easily say it was a great mix of local life and tourism. I probably would regret going to a resort and experiencing only the tourist side of Maldives instead of both. Beautiful island, friendly locals, amazing diving spots & great food! :):):)
