What a great vacation!
What a great vacation! It was really relaxing and I felt so very safe when walking the streets. We went on 3 excursions with no plans on the days in between. There is so much to see and do. It was as nice as any European vacation but without the long airline trip not the exaggerated cost. Everything was very inexpensive. I also bought many of our Christmas gifts. Our focus on this trip was textiles, so we spent a fair amount of time out of the city proper at the textile areas. When in the city center, our hotel was close to a lot of good restaurants around and near the zocalo. The hotel was also right across the street from one of the big markets, which was fun to explore. A visit to Casa Juarez (childhood home of Benito Juarez) was very interesting and a medium walk from the hotel.Guest review byLindaMexico - 10.0

Oaxaca is a wonderful destination for family and friends. There is a lot to see and do (museums, workshops, restaurants, etc.). I highly recommend Oaxaca. If you are thinking of visiting, book your trip for 5 or 7 days. There's lots to do and visit! July is perfect for the festivities (Guelaguetza), weather is pleasant, tropical. Interesting town.
Interesting town. This is proper Mexico also the state of Oaxaca. Many sightseeing possible. The locals are nice. Price cheaper then in Cancun. If you after souvenirs and handmade things Oaxaca is the right place. Be aware during the dry season the humidity is only 20%. The altitude is high with 1500m. We really loved the terrace and we enjoyed our breakfast there. It was great private island. We loved the bathtub in the terrace! Their bed is incredibly comfortable! The pillows too. The staff and services were amazing! We were so well taken care of! I also like their take on sustainability.
