Carlos was so lovely! He was very helpful, even offering to let us use his home gym if we wanted to. All the staff were great! The rooms were clean and spacious. The air conditioner was nice to come back to after being out all day.

Los Cocos provides fairly basic accommodations but what sets them apart is the quality of the staff. Marlon, his family and his staff are incredibly helpful and accommodating every step of the way. The food is typical Nicaraguan fare cooked beautifully with generous portions. We were always met with smiles. As we are practiced our Spanish, the Los Cocos team were patient and worked with us to ensure that expectations were well communicated. They spent time with us and got to know our children. The space is incredibly safe and the location is excellent, being directly across from playa Santa Cruz and the Saturday market. If you need a taxi, Marlon is more than willing to drive you wherever you need to go in a comfortable pick up truck. He can help you arrange horse tours, vehicle rental, kayak tour, hiking tour and whatever else you can imagine on the island. We have returned to Los Cocos twice, and we couldn't imagine staying at any other hotel on Isla de Ometepe!

We loved so much about our stay: Lucy and Danny, our hosts, were amazing and so helpful. The room was great. The food and coffee were delicious, location was beautiful and quiet. We have nothing but positive things to say about our experience staying at El Encanto.

We stayed in the room with the private bathroom and it was just perfect. The shower even had hot water (not that you need it with the heat) and the room was really clean and made us feel at home. The hostel is surrounded by nature and they even offer filtered water which is really practical because buying countless plastic bottles was starting to annoy us. They also offer tours to the volcano, scooter rents and other activities for a very fair price. The breakfast is delicious as well, prepared fresh and with love. The owners were super friendly too. They told us what we could do in Ometepe giving their personal opinion on different activities without being pushy or trying to sell us any tours at all. We really loved our stay at Urraca Loca!
