Lovely town and very relaxing lovely for a short break, very easy to get there from the airport. I think the train is the best and easiest option. Beautiful cheese shop in central of the town amazing restaurants my favourite was Da Mario Logo or sandwich bar for lunch lovely staff and very friendly they were all nice. The sweet shop was a bit over priced. Beautiful little shops eg. With antiques. You can rent a very nice and comfortable bicycles. An amazingly beautiful and buzzing Hanseatic town with a huge history. Just wandering around aimlessly is a experience in itself. The musea, churches and architecture are hard to surpass. Lots of small craft stores, artisan outlets and smart places to eat, especially around the Brink and in the Berg quarter. I fell in love with Deventer. This trip changed my life. The history of the city reveals itself in every corner as you walk through it. To my surprise, it was the day the city’s football club was playing an important match. I happened to be in the city, having dinner, and it was a very special moment to witness the joy of the people when they won. The bookstores are hidden treasures scattered throughout the city, and the museums add even more richness to the experience. The beds are a bit too soft to my liking, and the facilities in the room (I booked one with shower and toilet) are very basic. The shower is good. The location is excellent, close to the river, and the center of Deventer is at the doorstep. If you don't mind the ±10 minute walk, the station is close enough as well.
