We used Hilversum as a base to visit relatives throughout the country. The accommodations are half the price of the Holiday Inn at the train station in Amsterdam with a much bigger suite and a good kitchen. We rented a car at the airport which worked out well. Beautifully decorated, very cozy with lots of plants and we had everything we needed. The host left lots of food, snacks, tea and coffee for us. We also loved the location, very close to stores, restaurants, and public transportation. We traveled to Amsterdam and Utrecht and it takes 30 minutes.
