Our stay at the Moxy in Bergen exceeded our expectations. The hotel is new and modern, with a well-curated environment and a youthful vibe. The decor and lobby are spectacular, offering plenty of activities and places to relax with friends at a table. The staff is young and very friendly. We felt comfortable with everyone, and they provided valuable tips about the city. The breakfast is plentiful, though a bit repetitive day after day. The location is convenient, just a 5-minute walk from the nearest light rail stop. Overall, highly recommended!

Super fun! We enjoyed the ping pong and billiards. The breakfast was awesome and the beds were super comfortable. Hospitality was outstanding and they just went out of their way to make our stay as enjoyable as possible. We stayed in town at the beginning of our trip and paid 3 times as much for not a good experience. Next time in Bergen we’ll stay here and train into the city. 🇳🇴

The hotel is centrally located in Bergen in a beautiful building. The staff is very welcoming and friendly! We were fortunate that our room was ready upon our early arrival, and they surprised us with a junior suite upgrade. A Christmas tree in the room made it so special. The room was clean, spacious, and had such a cozy and comfortable atmosphere. The bed was comfortable. We had dinner in Frescohallen, and it was a wonderful experience. The servers were attentive, and the food was delicious. The breakfast was also wonderful! Plenty of variety. The staff kindly stored our luggage on checkout and called a taxi for us when we needed to leave. I would easily recommend this hotel to friends and would stay again.

FAQs about hotels in Bergen

Picture-Postcard Norway

Gateway to the western fjords, Bergen is a picture-perfect postcard of Norway at its best. Colorful, wooden houses in UNESCO World Heritage-listed Bryggen contrast wonderfully with the lush greenery of the surrounding Seven Mountains.

For fantastic views of Norway’s 2nd largest city, hop on the cable car to Ulriken Mountain. Alternatively, hike or take the funicular railway up to Fløyen Mountain. With beaches sheltered from the North Sea by islands, Bergen is Norway’s busiest port and a popular starting point for fjord cruises and deep sea fishing.

The fish market in the narrow streets of the historic centre is a popular attraction, while just north is 12th-century St Mary’s Church. Around 1,000 years younger is Bergenhus, one of Norway’s best-preserved forts. Further north is Gamle Bergen, a reconstructed wooden village offering insight into the past.

Cobbled Strandgaten street and Lagunen Storsenter shopping center are just some shopping options, but items aren’t cheap. As you wander around the city look for work by Dolk, Norway’s best-known street artist. Other cultural attractions include many museums and a good music scene ranging from classic to indie.

Booking.com’s range of Bergen accommodation extends out towards Bergen Airport in Flesland, the departure point for many workers on the offshore oil and gas rigs.

    Bergen is absolutely beautiful.

Bergen is absolutely beautiful. It is certainly worth noting that it is the rainiest city in Europe! But we did get lucky on our trip with a lovely sunny day. We stayed in central Bergen for 5 nights (6-11 October), which was a perfect length of time for us. Our apartment was on Grønnegaten, close to the Lille Lungegårdsvannet. We explored the city with its beautiful architecture. Restaurants/cafes are fairly expensive (coming from Cambridge/London, UK), but we stayed somewhere with a kitchen so ate in in the evenings. We walked up Fløyen (1 hour to the top from our apartment, very accessible road route) and got the funicular down (75 NOK one way). We also walked up Ulriken --- Google Maps took us a bit of a weird route (from our apartment to the Skyskraperen restaurant at the top of Ulriken, the walk went via Kolstien bus stop) that felt like we were going through someone's back garden (we weren't), but it took us about 2.5 hours total to walk from our apartment to the top. A more challenging walk with lots of water and a bit of scrambling. Definitely wouldn't have wanted to do it in the rain --- we got lucky with a dry sunny day. We got the cable car down (240 NOK one way). We also got the train from Bergen to Voss (536 NOK return) and the Voss gondola up the mountain (360 NOK return). I'd recommend all of these activities! It was also great that all the tickets could be purchased online and contactless/Apple Pay was widely accepted. Everyone we interacted with also spoke amazing English and was very friendly.

Bergen was an amazing place with beautiful nature, warm people, great atmosphere, and plenty of attractions—I would definitely come back. We took a boat trip too Flam one way and Flam train on the way back. It was an amazing experience. Unfortunatley we could not visit to many museums as they were closed on Monday.

What a beautiful and incredibly interesting city!

What a beautiful and incredibly interesting city! Bergen has so much to offer with lots of amazing museums that we just didn't have time to visit or explore. There are also many restaurants that we would have liked to try and a trip during the day up the Floibanen would also have been nice. What a great excuse for a return visit to this lovely city!

Well, you have to know that it rains almost daily in Bergen.

Well, you have to know that it rains almost daily in Bergen. If you are up to that Bergen is an interesting city. 2 full days however is enough to see it; The main centre at the harbour is very touristic, unfortunately mainly due to many huge cruise-ships coming daily to the port and unleashing thousands of tourists. Around the harbour vicinity there are hardly any locals living. A bit off the centre there are many traditional houses.

Spent 28 days in Norway using Bergen Airport as the transportation hub, therefore, needed accommodation within walk-able distance. Stayed four separate nights as it met the distance criteria and was cheaper than the Clarion Hotel. The Comfort Hotel is less than a 5" walk from the airport (slightly uphill), nothing special or bad, paying for the location. Good size and clean rooms, decent sized private bath with enclosed shower. Typical Norwegian BF included which was good. Friendly and helpful registration staff. Good wifi.

Excellent location for exploring Bergen. Very welcoming receptionist. The room was very clean and well-appointed, the bed extremely comfortable. A very good shower and the Rituals toiletries provided were much appreciated. The breakfast was excellent. After checking out, the hotel kindly allowed us to store our luggage in the luggage room until the late afternoon, to enable us to explore Bergen before moving on to the Clarion Hotel at Bergen Airport, ready for an early morning flight next day.

In a month of travelling in Europe this was our favorite lodging. It is an apartment but is affiliated with the hotel across the street so you can get all the information you need about the town. The whole place is recently remodeled and gorgeous. It has keyless entry, what a luxury. It also has a full kitchen, a huge plus in bank-breaking Norway. The price was also very reasonable for what it was and as a bonus it has a gorgeous terrace overlooking Bergen. So lovely, we can’t wait to return.

This is a great downtown hotel with fun decor and exceptionally friendly, helpful staff. The breakfast was fantastic with a lot of delicious choices, much like in almost all other places in Norway. It was very conveniently located to the train to the airport. We took a taxi there because we arrived very late at night, and it was our first time in Bergen, but it's only a five minute walk to the train, and we could have saved ourselves a lot of money.

Free parking Room was perfect, as in all CityBox. Commun area are small but well done : you can have your breakfast/dîner there, which is a good saving, specially in Norway...
