The staff were fabulous in helping out with phone calls and advice for activities. George went above and beyond helping us with our Milford Sound plane excursion. Room was great although I could hear footsteps above us at times. Loved the kitchen and washer/dryer in the room. And, walking on the lake path was very nice - you can leave right from your room to see the Wanaka tree which is just a few minutes down the pathway.

The spot of the studio was great, very easy to get to the famous Wānaka Tree. Also, we loved the letter from Goe, which is full of recommendations about everything around the studio. That was so kind of her. We felt quite cozy and relaxed in Goe’s studio, especially the massage chair, the comfortable sofa, the bright bathroom, and the beautiful kitchen. Goe was really nice to us that she waited at the door to greet and welcome us. The handwritten letter was very lovely. Thanks for everything. We had a wonderful night in Wānaka!!!

Wanaka has so much to offer as a destination in New Zealand. Lots of hikes, beautiful countryside and activities. We had 5 nights but could easily have stayed longer, it was sad to leave. The Roy's Peak climb is epic if you have the stamina and Puzzling World is well worth the visit.

Awesome little town with so much to do.

Awesome little town with so much to do. The town itself is small but it has a coupple of nice restaurants and shops. But the surroundings are what makes Wanaka special. A lot of hikes, mountainbiking and other outdoor avtivities. Don't forget to check the cinema Paradiso. One of the cutest cinemas you'll ever visit. You can order cookies before the film and they bake them fresh so you have warm cookies during the break ;-)

So beautiful and peaceful.

So beautiful and peaceful. Relaxed little town with plenty of great restaurants, bars, cafes, and shops to choose from lovely walks on the Lakeshore. so clean and well maintained, we had four nights here and it was not enough, we were very sad to leave.

Wanaka is gorgeous, peaceful, so quiet...and yet so many...

Wanaka is gorgeous, peaceful, so quiet...and yet so many things to do. So many hikes. Water sports. Amazing restaurants, with plenty of choices for vegetarians (and even vegans). Easy to get around. Easy to park. Community events. So far, our favorite place in New Zealand.

Beautiful lake and mountain views. It’s an LONG winding mountain road from Queenstown…you wouldn’t want to be commuting back and forth from there (like I thought we were going to do!) Ate dinner at a fabulous Indian and Nepalese restaurant just back from the main road (top ranking restaurant on Trip Advisor). The tree in the lake was a bit of a funny “tourist attraction!”

Wanaka is such a beautiful town ,personally it's my favourite town in the south Island and second favourite town in New Zealand! The lake and view of the mountains from the lake are just beautiful. Lots to do around Wanaka too. I would highly recommend Wanaka to anyone wanting to visit.

Everything was perfect! Location couldn’t be better! A really cozy apartment with a fireplace for cold times and an A/C to fight the intense heat of summer. Excellent kitchen with everything one may need. Super good and modern shower. A deck with a wooden table and chairs with the lake view for meals outside. And of course a super friendly host! Definitely the best hotel among all those that we stayed in during out trip on the South Island!

Excellent 2 bedroom motel, with a superb view of Lake Wānaka and the surrounding mountains. Clean, warm, comfortable accommodation, plenty of space for the 4 of us. We appreciated all the little extras typical of hotel accommodation, rather than a camp site (toiletries, coffee and teas, a hairdryer, electric blankets). It definitely is a superior Top 10 site.
