The room was heated on arrival. Late check in, but greeted by friendly staff. Restaurant had a lovely atmosphere, warm fire, excellent service.

The staff provided exceptional guidance so that we could take stunning views of the mountains during sunset. Very high quality breakfast. Overall, exceeded my expectations in this rather remote/resource limited (to a city person at least) location.

The hosts Simon and Mazz were incredibly friendly and welcoming and had prepared for our visit by flying the Canadian flag on their pole! The apartment was very clean and inviting, the shower had lots of pressure and the bed provided us an incredibly comfortable nights sleep. Dinner was had at Schnapps Bar in town and it didn't disappoint, providing more food than we could eat.

Plateau Lodge is located 15 minutes’ drive from UNESCO World Heritage listed Tongariro National Park, where guests can enjoy skiing, hiking, cycling and paddling activities.

LOVED the outdoor bathtub, and the room was very comfortable with a king bed and fridge/bar area. Great outdoor living room with couch and small table. Good restaurant within walking distance, Would love to stay for much longer!

Tongariro Estate enjoys a location in National Park, 10 miles from Mount Ruapehu and 10 miles from Taranaki Falls. There's a private entrance at the apartment for the convenience of those who stay.

The apartment we stayed in was toasty warm, with beautifully clean beds, bathrooms and kitchen. Parking was right outside and finding the place is a breeze. It also had all the little touches that make things easier, for example the kitchen had not just ample cooking equipment, but also basic condiments, sugar, salt oil...etc). Great hosts, they were super responsive, helpful and kind when contacted. We will definitely stay here again.

Comfortable, well-stocked, clean, felt new. Proximity to groceries and to the couple restaurants that were open (we came in the off-season). And Mary was amazing!

The hostess was accommodating and cheerful. The room was clean (a bit worn), and functional. It is located about 15 minutes from the National Park. When our track was rained out they were able to accommodate us again on short notice!

Our family room was very clean and the beds were comfortable . Window opened wide for fresh air . And the management staff was fantastic. They were helpful and supported in every way our trek through the crossing.
