Everything was perfect, from the quiet location and fantastic view to the service provided. The breakfast was amazing, with local homemade treats. The owners are very friendly and helpful. We really enjoyed our stay and wished we had stayed longer.

Extraordinary location high up on the hill with stunning views down onto the Douro Valley. Swimming pool an added bonus and beautiful, shimmering at night. Extremely helpful housekeeper who put us on to an easier drive to reach the property (M600/M601; use maps to go to the restaurant Varanda da Régua and it’s 5 minutes from there. And that is an excellent restaurant). Housekeeper not great at English but fluent in French (as well as Portuguese, obviously). Very quiet.

I could write an essay about our stay in Casal dos Capelinhos, because it was the best stay we ever had. From the start to finish, everything was beyond perfection. The location, the room, the views just incredible! What made this place special were people there, we adore every single one of them. They made us feel like home and we were very sad when we had to go. Me and my family will come back for sure, and for a longer period next time, because this place made us feel relaxed and we enjoyed it so much. Casal dos Capelinhos is very secure, the property is very big and beautiful. There is fruit garden below the main house and we were enjoying oranges and mandarines everyday. One of the most special things about this place is the food. We had breakfast and dinner everyday and it was just so good. I can not express how awesome and delicious all the food was. Marlene, the chef, she is the sweetest and let me tell you, she knows how to cook. While writing this review, we are just checking when can we come back. :)

First Six Senses we visited in Europe, we have not been disappointed. From the location, the friendliness on arrival and every time you meet someone. Always helpful and very friendly. Perfect stay over the New Year festivities. will come again at different season to fully enjoy the valley.

The hotel had a delicious breakfast. We almost couldn’t believe we got such a good breakfast for the cheap rate we paid for the room. The hotel itself is simple, but has everything you need, and that for a good price. The staff is very kind and friendly. The hotel is very near to several supermarkets. All in all a good pick!
