It really was an amazing experience. We stayed for the whole trip here and it is a great location to explore the island and then come back in the evening. Lots of parking places outside no need to cramp in the small streets of the center. It had a very nice pool on the rooftop.

This hotel is a design jewel located almost halfway between Ponta Delgada and Lagoa, hence perfect for day excursions in São Miguel island. What makes this hotel so special is the meticulous and design-conscious use of local materials in a rough way (wabi-sabi). Everything in this hotel has high quality, the materials and the food to mention a few. What I liked the most in this hotel is the professionalism of the staff, yet so uncomplicated, light and easy-going. The room service was exceptionally good. Even the trainee at the reception, although in her third day, was doing great. General Manager Joao Almeida, congratulations for the great job training your team and providing your guests with the best service possible. The room was spacy, the beds comfortable. The pool is not heated but there is a heated Jacuzzi which I used every night before going to bed. That wasn't a problem for me. This hotel is one of the best I ever had and by far the best one I had in the Azores.

Amazing place, fantastic hosts and we wish we could stay there longer. The place was big, with a beautiful walk in shower, spacious kitchen with everything you can possibly want, gorgeous view from the window- sunrise at the ocean. The donkeys next door were super cute too. I will recommend this place to anyone traveling to Azores. Thank you again!!

The house is charming, comfortable (bravo for the interior design!) well équipped and very well located. The welcome is friendly and attentive (fruit, water, cakes, bredad, coffee, mil’... perfect when you’re just arrived!).

    this hotel was far from the airport or anything else for that matter, if you had to walk so a car is a necessity, and although the hotel had amenities like restaurant (only open for breakfast with the same breakfast every day) and vending machines (which if you could find a working one was empty( best piece of advise is find a grocery store, the island living is the best but it does take some getting used to if your from North America.

    Stunning location. Incredible volcanic scenery.

    Stunning location. Incredible volcanic scenery. Wonderful wildlife. Great bars and eateries up the hill in Agua do Pau. Speeding Traffic in the area a major problem. Roads very dangerous, particularly after dark. Illicit drugs openly available close by if that's your thing, probably contributing to the road safety issues.
