Staff were very friendly and accommodating. The rooms are ultra modern and clean. We had the 3 course meal - absolutely amazing and such good value for money with the wine pairing too. The welcome drink was a lovely touch. I can’t rate this hotel highly enough for a chill out break with fabulous food at a great price!

We had a wonderful stay at the hotel. Our room was lovely, and the staff were incredibly helpful. They assisted us with booking wine tours and even helped resolve an issue with our rental car since we don't speak Portuguese. Both the breakfast and dinner were delicious. While the location is a bit removed from the hustle and bustle of city nightlife, it's the perfect place to relax by the pool, enjoy a drink, and soak up the sun.

We were very well received at Casa major. The pool area was perfect for relaxing, offering sunbeds a lot of shady places. The house has a very nice antigue charme and we felt very comfortable. Luisa was incredible! We stayed 3 nights here and loved our time. It was relaxing and filled with making us feel at home! She provided us with a fridge full of food upon arrival and a small bottle of her own wine. Each morning she bought us fresh bread, cakes, eggs, juice etc which was such a nice touch! As we were heading out one morning she caught us and showed us the wine being made in the process which was fantastic to see! Always a text or call away and lots of recommendations and even offer to use the pool in her other property. We couldn’t recommend this place more - perfect location for a stay in the Douro Valley!
