Isabelle was there to greet us on arrival even though we were over 1 hour late because the shuttle bus did not collect us to get our rental car. We were also able to check into the property earlier than 3pm when we had an early flight. Isable had baked us some welcome fairy cakes. Isabelle also baked us more cakes and gave us various fresh produce from their garden during our stay. They live in the property below and are generally around to help if needed. Isabelle understands a little English but it's easy to message her via the booking.com messaging service, where she can fully translate everyting and she responds very quickly. The Villa is immaculately clean & well decorated. The Kitchen is large, well equipped with a lovely sea view. The outdoor spaces are really clean and very spacious. The pool is to die for, we had lovely weather and the water was 29 degrees.....bliss! The Gardens are well maintained and very beautiful. It is peaceful. It was an absolute privilege to holiday here.

The location had a fabulous view down to the ocean with panoramic windows. The accommodation was very modern with lovely little touches like welcome gifts & additional items for my toddler, which were very well received. The pool was lovely to have on warmer days with a wonderfully hot outdoor shower. The kitchen has everything you could need and more. To get to the property it is off the main road and up a narrow, steep hill but we hired a car to use for the time we were there so not a problem for us. Ana was very helpful and always on hand with any answers to questions. We also had a resident cat that would say hello to us each day, we didn't let it in but it definitely tried! Very friendly and my son loved it. The area in general was nice, nothing around the villa in terms of walking but a short drive down to Calheta beaches and restaurants. There's a wine bar just round the corner which we tried to go to several times but either wasn't open or didn't quite time it right with our toddler - I think worth a look though if you like wine and are not restricted by times! We also had an excellent pizza (one of the best I've had) alongside some exceptional ice cream down on the harbour front. Manifattura Di Gelato restaurant. Worth a try, even just for an ice cream.

A wonderful place to relax and be at one with nature. Wonderful view from the terrace to the ocean, quiet place. Spacious, clean, cozy apartment with everything you need. Very caring and attentive hosts provided everything for our stay.

Perfect place with a beautiful view and a very nice host. Really quiet (besides rooster, greetings to him ;) ), away from the city, perfect place to relax after hiking or eating good food. In room, you will find everything you need. Elisabete, thank you for your warm welcome and tips on places worth visiting. Next time when we plan to visit Madeira, we don't have to look for other accommodation :)

Breathtaking ocean and mountain views, calm area, delicious...

Breathtaking ocean and mountain views, calm area, delicious food and big portions, thanks to Lobosonda tour in Calheta we got to see a pod of cute dolphins. Calheta is a good place to stay in Madeira, because it’s calm and most sights are easily reachable by car.

This is a great location to visit the rest of the Island.

This is a great location to visit the rest of the Island. You need a hire car here and be willing to drive around the Island. It is too far with main highways to be able to walk to Calheta beach. If you do hire a car, make sure you go for full Insurance as minor scratches and scraps to your hire vehicle are very likely on this Island, even if not by you. If you don't fancy driving here, be sure to book into accomodation with meals included.

Lovely place, great sea view, fantastic gardens, sunny and great sunsets. Close to the hiking areas of Rabacal and to the beach places of Paul do Mar and Jardim do Mar. We also loved Joe`s Bar in Jardim do Mar and Pukiki in Estreito da Calheta.

Estreito da Calheta is very quiet and close to some gorgeous...

Estreito da Calheta is very quiet and close to some gorgeous parts of the island- Jardim de Mar, Paul de Mar and Rabacal, but there’s not much in Estreito de Calheta itself. Also the roads are very steep, so probably a bit nerve-wracking for any inexperienced drivers. We had great day trips to Ponto Pargo, Jardim de Mar, Paul de Mar, Porto Moniz and Seixal. All very accessible from Estreito da Calheta. Calheta is nice- a long promenade and a man-made sandy beach, but very busy, so not our cup of tea. We did go to the beach one evening, our kids loved the play park and there was a lovely little rum bar close by for coffee or drinks.
