This rural hotel looks like it has recently been totally renovated, so it adds an old palace charm to high standard modern amenities, like a design passage way between the main building/reception area and the building where the rooms are. The gardens are beautiful and very well kept - there is a rose garden, a hortensia's garden, a wall-garden and the gardens around the open air swimming pool. There is also a tennis court by the swimming pool, all very nicely done. The situation is very peaceful and quiet, overlooking the mountains and farms. The rooms are very spacious and some of them have a nice terrace with access to the gardens. The breakfast was really good, all with freshly made products from the region - cheese, ham, marmelade - and home made bread. We stayed happily for two nights and could have stayed longer to unwind! Bonus: the Mondego river walkways are a half hour drive away, a nice walking trail of 16kms.

Owner is very nice. He waited for us till 1030pm. These are the people who really care about their clients and business. Beds and pillows are far more cleaner than 5 star hotel. What I loved more is the cleanliness.

Teresa Governo is a very friendly and welcoming host who did her best to help me find the location of the apartment (Google maps doesn't recognise the address) and when I called her for help she came out immediately to find me and guide me - excellent service. The apartment was quiet and perfect for our needs. On top of this, Teresa provided multiple items in the kitchen that were a delightful bonus: a full fruit basket, olive oil, vinegar, salt & pepper and other spices, tea & coffee, milk, rusks, welcome chocolates and a little liqueur, jam, butter and bottled water, nuts, garlic, onions etc. Her apartment is excellent value for money - I'm sorry ours was such a short stay.

The landlady was really nice and helpfull, she even gave us a ride when we couldn't find the transport and cooked dinner for us! The surroundings are super nice for spending a nice calm getaway weekend. The dogs were really friendly and they added to the mountain cozy atmosphere apartment:) 100% recommended! Thank you!

The apartment is very well located within the Linhares village. It’s only a couple minutes walk to the medieval castle and the main little square of town - which you can find a great restaurant too! It had everything one might need to cook and it was super clean and had such a homey smell. The host was also flexible as I had some issues with my reservation (which was my own mistake, but the host was incredibly flexible and helped me out). It is perfect for a couple to stay, and it is also super charming with the medieval vibes from the city. We were also given a little gift which was super delicious!! Definitely a highlight for us. Funny thing - Linhares doesn’t have house numbers, but the host’s instructions made it super easy to find ;) Totally recommend!!
